HomeMy WebLinkAboutAMIGOS AT SOUTH COLLEGE PUD - 31 91 - CORRESPONDENCE - RESPONSE TO CITIZEN (2)DevelolWnt Services Planning Department City of Fort Collins August 16, 1991 Mr. Bill Strickfaden College Properties 4212 Wellington Drive Fort Collins, CO 80526 Dear Mr. Strickfaden, I am writing on behalf of the City Planning and Transportation Departments in regard to development of properties on the east side of South College Avenue, north of Harmony Road. Back in 1981 it was recognized by the property owners and the City that development of these properties would take cooperation between the various property owners to come up with development plans which would be acceptable and supportable from a planning and transportation view point. The Superblock #1 Plan for South College Properties reflects very broad conceptual planning for this area, but does not deal with the specifics of joint access and internal circulation. In June of this year the Planning Department reviewed the first officially submitted plans for development in this area. It became clear to City Staff that the land uses found to be desirable by property owners will require cooperation and joint planning by all of the adjacent owners. Access and traffic circulation are major issues in this area. Each parcel is dependent on the other parcels for access and circulation. I just want to very strongly aoina to take pass along to you, in writing, that City Staff feels that development of the South College Properties is an honest effort by all property owners to work the good —of long—term—development_of the area. A. piecemeal approach will not result in acceptable or supportable development plans, especially for the kinds of uses that seem to be desirable in this area.
