HomeMy WebLinkAbout512222 HAROLD'S EXCAVATING SERVICES LLC - CONTRACT - PURCHASE ORDER - 9126356AGREEMENT FOR REMOVAL OF BRIDGE ACROSS CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER THIS AGREEMENT ("Agreement'), made this 3`d day of December, 2012, is made between CITY OF FORT COLLINS, Natural Areas Department (the "CQ " ), with an address at 1745 Hoffman Mill Road, Fort Collins, CO 80522 and MARTIN MARIETTA MATERIALS, INC., a North Carolina corporation (the "Company'), with an address at 1800 North Taft Hill Road, Fort Collins, CO 80521. 1) The Company will contract with Harold's Excavating Services, LLC ("Harolds") to remove the old Sterling bridge across the Cache la Poudre River in accordance with the attached Bid Proposal dated August 9, 2012 (the "Removal"). The Company will pay one-half (1/2) the cost of the Removal, and the City will pay the remaining one-half (1/2) of such costs. Payment by both parties will be made directly to Harolds within thirty (30) days of completion of the Removal and receipt of an invoice from Harolds for the Removal. 2) Bank stabilization rock and related materials will be supplied and placed by the City. 3) Any permitting required for the Removal by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, the City, or any other governmental agency will be obtained by the City. Box 1190 Fort Collins, CO 80522-1190 November 14, 2012 To Eric Tracy, The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department would like to request a Larimer County Floodplain Review Permit to remove an abandoned bridge over the Cache la Poudre River between Taft Hill Road and Shields St. located along the bank of property owned by City of Fort Collins on the east bank and the City of Greeley, Fort Collins -Loveland Water District, North Weld County Water District and East Larimer County Water District on the west bank. The west bank property is leased to Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. Martin Marietta has contracted with Harold's Construction to remove the bridge and all materials. Remediation for the newly exposed dirt on the riverbank will be temporary stabilization with boulders and rocks supplied and placed by City of Fort Collins. A larger riverbank restoration plan is being designed by the City of Fort Collins for the natural area property and will include further detailed modeling of the river in this area which will account for the removed bridge. The bridge deconstruction and removal will begin anytime immediately after your approval and completed before the end of the year.
