RE: Monitoring for Manhattan Detention Pond
Dear Mr. Taylor:
Thank you for this opportunity to assist the Fort Collins Water Utilities with
conducting the annual monitoring for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the
Manhattan Detention Pond wetland mitigation sites, 404 permit number
200580108. Biohabitats has prepared this scope of work to complete the field
assessment, documentation in an annual monitoring report to the USACE, and
identification of possible actions for the site. As was the case for the previous
monitoring, this scope of work assumes that surveyors from Water Utilities will
survey the pin flags designating the wetland boundary, calculate the area of
wetland, and provide'these files to Biohabitats for creating report figures.
The following tasks will be completed for this site:
Task 1 — Field Investigation
a) Delineation of the existing wetlands according to the Great
Plains Supplement to the 1987 Corps Wetland Delineation
Manual.
b) Flagging of wetland boundaries with numbered pin flags (to be
surveyed by Utilities survey crew).
c) Photographs of the site from photo points established in 2010.
d) Observation of mitigation wetland successes, failures, and
problems.
Task 2 — Preparation of one annual monitoring report summarizing current
conditions to the Corps of Engineers.
a) Permit number and county where the project is located.
b) Discussion of successes, failures, and problems.
c) Discussion of wetland area with wetland data sheet.
i
d) Recommendations for any additional corrective or remedial
actions.
e) Figure showing original planned wetland area, 2010 and 2011
wetland area, and current wetland area.
f) Photographs from photo points documenting site conditions.
