The final day for questions will be Monday, October 15, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. MST. 2. Question: Is the selected Contractor responsible for tree/grass protection during the Elks work? Answer: No, the Contractor shall procure and stage materials in Peterson Street parking stalls. The Elks will be responsible for tree/grass protection during their work. b. Question: Are the contract days specified in the bid documents working days or calendar days? Answer: The contract days specified in the bid documents are calendar days. c. Question: Who is responsible for relocating the boulders shown in the drawings? Answer: The selected Contractor will be responsible for moving and providing all new boulders as shown in the bid documents. d. Question: Who is responsible for tree relocation/demolition? Answer: The City of Fort Collins Forestry Department will be responsible for all tree relocation and demolition. e. Question: Who is responsible for sod relocation/rehab? Answer: All sod relocation and rehab will be performed by the irrigation/landscape contractor, Korby Sod. f. Question: What areas will be available for staging? Answer: A staging area will be available in Peterson Street. The selected Contractor is responsible for contacting parking services, procuring permits for these parking spaces, and including the pricing for the permits within the base bid. The selected Contractor will not be responsible for procuring parking permits for staging the Elks materials. g. Question: Will the contractor be required to provide equipment to the Elks for installation/movement of material? Answer: No. The contractor must only provide the materials to the Elks; all additional labor/movement of materials will be performed by the Elks. h. Question: Is the flagstone relocation included under the General Contractor’s bid? Addendum 1 7435 Plaza & Streetscape Improvements for Poudre River Public Library District Page 3 of 3 Answer: Yes. The general contractor is responsible for all flagstone relocation. i. Question: What are the working hours of the job? Answer: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. j. Question: Will the Engineer consider alternative concrete retarders? Answer: The Engineer will consider alternative concrete retarders so long as they are equal or better than the specified product. k. Question: In Alternate #1, is the selected Contractor to also provide concrete and reinforcing material for the perimeter curb and bench pads, excavation and subgrade prep? Answer: Concrete and reinforcing material for the bench pads are included in the price of Alternate #1.However, the selected Contractor will install these items after completion of the Elks work. The Elks will be responsible for excavation and subgrade prep, installation of the concrete curb and reinforcing materials. The Elks will be responsible for procuring and placing the concrete and reinforcement for the perimeter curb. l. Question: Two Kiosks are listed in the product general notes and one Kiosk is shown on the plans, please clarify. Answer: Only one Kiosk is to be installed on the property located on the north side of the main entrance. m. Question: Please clarify the work to be performed by the Elks and general Contractor with regards to Alternate #2. Answer: The general Contractor is responsible for providing and staging all materials at the site. The Elks will be responsible for excavation, subgrade preparation, placement of the geotextile fabric, boulders, and crusher fines. n. Question: In the base bid there are areas that specify rock cobble mulch over landscape fabric. Is this the responsibility of the general Contractor or the landscape Contractor? Answer: All rock cobble mulch procurement and placement is the responsibility of the Landscape Contractor.
