SECTION 206 - STRUCTURE EXCAVATION
AND BACKFILL
• Structure Excavation includes haul and disposal
— This material is anticipated to be acceptable fill material
for use on the job site as both general earthwork and
Class II backfill.
— Approximately 2600 CY of haul and dispose is
anticipated.
• Shoring design is the responsibility of the contractor
— The intent of the shoring is to protect the existing 24"
ELCO ductile iron water pipe
SECTION 206 - STRUCTURE EXCAVATION
AND BACKFILL
Coordination with existing utilities
— Xcel has a high pressure gas line that they will turn off and lower
during the structure excavation
— Comcast will lower an existing fiber optic cable during the structure
excavation
— Century Link has an existing fiber optic cable that will need to be
supported by the contractor during the structure excavation
— ELCO has an existing AC pipe that they will be removing during the
structure excavation and replacing with Ductile Iron Pipe during the
structure backfill operation
— ELCO has an existing 24" DIP that will be protected in place

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
SUPERINTENDENTS:
o The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time Superintendent whose
sole responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of the work
LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
o SUBSTANIAL COMPLETION:
The contractor will need to meet substantial completion requirements
within 90 days of construction start date. Substantial completion shall
be defined as the completion of all earthwork, pavement, sidewalk, curb
and gutter, and any other pertinent items as required for this project. If
the Contractor goes past the 90 calendar days for substantial
completion, damages in the amount of One Thousand Eight Hundred
Dollars ($1,800.00) for each calendar day will be assessed.
o FINAL ACCEPTANCE:
Final acceptance must be met within 14 calendar days of substantial
completion. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars
$500.00per calendar day will be charged if this sched"not
HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL
CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
• Box Culvert Milestone:
• 45 Calendar Day closure of Turnberry between
Richard's Lake Road and Brightwater Drive for
installation of box culvert and realignment of
Turnberry Road
• Liquidated Damages of $1800 per calendar day
• Anticipate that this closure will occur after the
initial construction begins due to the design and
fabrication of the precast box culvert

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
• Traffic Control:
- Existing two lane Turnberry Road will be maintained as a
2-way street for all traffic between Mountain Vista Road to
Richard's Lake Road. Turnberry Road will also be
required to handle traffic between Richard's Lake Road
and Brightwater Drive for the duration of the project
except as noted below. .
- Turnberry Road will be allowed a 45 calendar day closure
between Richard's Lake Road and Brightwater Drive for
construction the precast box culvert and realignment of
Turnberry Road. This closure will be closely monitored
and subject to liquidated damages if the closure time
exceeds 45 calendar days.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL
CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
Traffic Control:
- The existing Turnberry Road / Country Club Road intersection
will maintain full access to NB, SB, EB and WB traffic west of
Turnberry Road. Flagging of the intersection will be necessary
for construction and there will be the opportunity to close the
intersection for a weekend to finish grading and bottom lift
asphalt work.
- The existing Turnberry Road / Richard's Lake Road intersection
will maintain full access to NB, SB, EB, and WB traffic south of
Richard's Lake Road for the duration of the project.
- EBIWB access to Maple Hill Drive, Waterbury Lane, Summer
Park Lane, and Country Club Road will need to be coordinated
as to allow full access to Turnberry Road to all homes east of
Turnberry Road. Lengthy detours sending all local traffic to
Richard's Lake Road will not be considered.

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
• CONSTRUCTION HOURS:
• Standard Hours of Operation
• 7:00 A.M. thru 6:00 P.M. - Monday thru Friday.
• Given the scope of the proposed improvements,
the City will permit extended working hours

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
• PROJECT MEETINGS:
• Once a week at the construction trailer located on site, time to
be determined.
PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS:
• Schedules shall be updated weekly. The Contractor may be
required to submit additional schedules depending on the
progress of the project.
• HAUL ROUTES:
• Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be
allowed to use residential streets to access the site with
trucks hauling materials.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS
AND GENERAL REQ'S:
• SITE CLEAN-UP:
• The construction work shall be kept and accomplished in a
neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Tracking pads and street sweeping will need to be used in
order to minimize tracking and meet EPA storm water quality
requirements.
• Dust control will be required.

EROSION CONTROL - SWMP
• Contractor will obtain and maintain the SWMP from the Colorado
Dept of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
• Erosion Control is a lump sum pay item.
• The Erosion Control Plans provided are not the SWMP.
• Erosion Control Supervisor is included in the lump sum pay item for
erosion control.
• The Erosion Control Supervisor will meet with the Project Engineer
and Contract Superintendent at least every 14 days and within 24
hours of storm/snowmelt events.

PAVEMENT BID ALTERNATE
• 7.5" Asphalt on 6" Aggregate Base Course
• 7" Portland Concrete Cement Pavement on subgrade
• A defined maintenance life cycle cost adjustment will be
added to the asphalt pavement option for award purposes.
• The lowest bid (asphalt + adjustment) or PCC pavement will
be awarded the work
• The life cycle cost adjustment will be $100,000.
• A revised bid tab will be included in the addendum.
• Bidders may submit pricing for one or both of the
pavement alternates for consideration of award.
