The City of Fort Collins is requesting proposals from qualified firms to for irrigation pump station
maintenance and/or replacement for the Parks Department and City of Ft Collins.
Written proposals, five (5) copies, will be received at the City of Fort Collins' Purchasing
Division, 215 North Mason St., 2nd floor, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. Proposals will be
received before 3:00 p.m. (our clock), October 20, 2011 and referenced as Proposal No.
7292. If delivered, they are to be sent to 215 North Mason Street, 2nd Floor, Fort Collins,
Colorado 80524. If mailed, the address is P.O. Box 580, Fort Collins, 80522-0580.

CITY OF FORT COLLINS
7292 IRRIGATION PUMP STATION MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Section 1.0 Proposal Requirements
1.1 General Description
The City of Fort Collins is requesting proposals from qualified firms for irrigation pump station
maintenance and/or replacement for the Parks Department and City of Ft Collins. Work would
be done under a work order system.
1.2 Proposal Submittal
The City of Fort Collins shall not reimburse any firm for costs incurred in the preparation and
presentation of their proposal.
Firms submitting proposals shall submit four (4) copies of the proposal with the following
information:
a. Company history and experience performing pump station maintenance and
replacement.
b. The name of the company representative responsible for coordinating work.
C. References from two or more organizations that have contracted with you in the
last two years for similar services
d. Names of product lines you regularly work with.
e. Warranty information.
Response time.
Pricing, as requested.
The proposal must be signed by a duly authorized representative of the firm submitting the
proposal. The signature shall include the title for the individual signing the proposal.
All proposals shall remain subject to initial acceptance 90 days after the day of submittal.
Section 2.0 Background:
The City of Ft. Collins has historically demonstrated a need for pump maintenance and
installation work. The City has a number of irrigation pumping plants in community and
neighborhood parks, golf courses and cemeteries. They are listed in Exhibit A. Most of the
systems have variable speed controls. There are also a number of booster pump systems.
Historically, the City spends between $15,000 to $40,000 per year.
Section 3.0 Scope of Work:
Company would be responsible for removing pumps and motors, inspecting parts and
refurbishing or replacing and reinstallation of unit. They could also be required to troubleshoot
problems, work, mechanical, electric, hydraulic and electronic pump components i.e. flow
meters, filter systems etc, assist with start up and winterization and program software. Any
components that are replaced must be of equal or better quality than existing components.
Company must be able to provide response within 24 hours of notification.
All work will be issued through work orders.

Work Order Procedure:
A. All job estimates must be submitted on a unit price basis consistent with the prices
established in the Bid Schedule section.
B. Contractor will invoice for all jobs completed on a unit price basis with the prices
established in the Bid Schedule section.
C. Work order number must be included on the billing invoices
Section 4.0: Pricing
In your written response to this proposal, provide hourly rate pricing to cover the following:
• Pump technician
• Assistant
• Electrician
• PLC programmer
• After hours cost for each
• City will allow markup on parts of 8% maximum.
.• City will allow markup on outside contractors of 8% maximum, i.e. crane companies.
