Working with the City of Fort Collins to exceed its LEED Gold Certification goal, the Heath team implemented strict building requirements developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. For example, Heath constructed the new library to earn LEED credits in such categories as: water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation and design process including the selection of eco-conscious furnishings. "Environmentally sustainable construction is a part of Heath's culture," said Randy DeMario, Heath president. "LEED certification is fast becoming a must -have requirement for many of today's municipal projects." This branch library features a storytime room, large meeting room and several study rooms. Heath Construction John Raycraft Wyoming State Library Renovation Heath Construction was selected as the Construction Manager and General Contractor for this $3 million renovation of the main floor and basement of the 33,000 square foot, 40-year old building as the new location for the Wyoming State Library. Ian Catellier, Project Manager for the State of Wyoming, said, "Bobby made the project work and was always committed to finishing the job on time. 1 would have Bobby on any project of mine as Superintendent. He always treated me with the greatest amount of respect, did an excellent job and communicated well with everyone involved. I can't say enough good things about him" The renovated building offers training rooms, large open spaces for display of books and other materials, separate staff offices and updated information technology space. During demolition, Heath removed old boilers, chillers, rooftop units and concrete walls, and filled in two loading dock bays to make the space ready for new offices. Eight weeks were scheduled for demolition work, but it was completed in about five. Reconstruction work began in early November with final completion in April 2009. i Heath Construction Bob y arcia Windsor/Severance Library Addition and Remodel - r-C 5C eat 0cglra' B'c . 1 _ 0;^.nr. The project was built as a joint use project between Front Range Community College and the City of Fort Collins. This building serves not only as a public library, but also as a community gathering place with a near 150 capacity primarily for library programs, classes and meetings, but also for local nonprofit organizations. The project incorporated sustainable design features to create a naturally lighted facility. The project was completed on time and received an Exemplary Building Award for Excellent Use of Renewable Energy from the Colorado Renewable Energy Society. John Raycraft Estes Park Public Library and City Council Chamber Heath Construction was the General Contractor for this 7,415 square foot library addition and 3,200 municipal building renovation. The $1.5 million project included constructing a new second story addition and remodeling the ground floor. The project required a complete removal and replacement of all HVAC systems throughout the building. All outer finishes were selected to coordinate with the existing finishes to continue blending into its scenic and highly visible setting. The project was completed on time despite a winter construction period in this beautiful mountain setting. The construction was phased to accommodate the library district's requirement to remain open to serve its patrons throughout construction.
