TO: Nis. Eileen Scholl @ City of Fort Collins — Parks Project Manager
RE: Re-work/Re-coating of Elevated Level Deck of Concession Building near
ball fields @ Fossil Creek Park
Subject: Price Proposal
Dear Eileen,
First of all thank you for the initial call to have Blazer look at and offer our input and
pricing regarding the elevated plaza deck of the concession building located west of
the ball fields at Fossil Creek Park in Fort Collins.
During my walk around of the area I found two random cracks on the elevated plaza
area that ran through two of the 4' x 4' concrete topping slab sections. It is our
suggestion to remove these two damaged sections of topping slab completely and
replace them with a site mixed concrete fill material. At that point we can also do
some investigative work to determine whether or not the underlying waterproofing is
in good condition. Due to the fact that there is reportedly an underlying
waterproofing membrane installed under the topping slab but atop a structural slab
that is placed on metal pan formwork, it is our suggestion to use a breathable deck
coating system to provide a secondary level of waterproofing as it appears the
original waterproofing membrane is beginning to fail allowing water intrusion
through the structural slab an into the spaces below the plaza deck. Once the two
sections of the topping slab are removed and replaced, the sawcuts, control joints and
perimeter sealant cant along the parapet walls would be removed and/or replaced
after a heavy duty pedestrian grade "breathable" deck coating is installed to the
entire area (color can be selected from the attached manufacturer's standard color
chart). Once the new deck coating system is installed a penetrating sealer will be
applied as the final step in the process.
Blazer's cost to perform the work briefly described in the paragraph above, including
labor/burden, equipment, supplies and permanent materials but excluding sales tax
would be $8,624.00 Lump Sum.
Exclusions: removal and replacement of the picnic tables on the elevated deck;
replacement of the trench drain as it appears to be in good condition; replacement of
any railing sections; removal of the cut stone "bollards'; winter protection or
temporary heating or covers as this work can still be carried out even during this time
of year if the temperatures during the day can reach 45-60 degrees for a 4-5 hour
period. If a performance and payment bond is required please add S250.00 to our
