City of Fort Collins By: INTEI�Mur cons U Lr ING caouv July 22, 2011 Mr. Craig Foreman City of Fort Collins Park Planning and Development PO Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522-0580 Fossil Creek Trail - Trilby Road Underpass Project Description and Scope of Services Dear Craig - Attached is the project scope and description that we discussed: Description Interwest will provide engineering services necessary to create plans for a trail connections on the north side of Trilby Road between Lemay and the Power Trail as well as the plans for a Tx14' underpass of Trilby on the west side of Fossil Creek. Scope of Services Topographic and Utility Survey — King Surveyors will provide a topographic survey of the attached area on City of Fort Collins Vertical Datum and will show platted lots and easements on the base survey. Additionally, private utility locates will be provided in the vicinity of the box culvert. Estimated Fee: $5,000 Easements — King Surveyors will provide trail and temporary construction easements as needed for the project for a fee of $400 per easement. At this time, we anticipated 5 easements for the project. Estimated Fee: $2,000 Trail Plan and Profile — Interwest will prepare a plan and profile for approximately 0.5 miles of at grade trail. Estimated Fee: $8,000 Box Culvert Plan and Profile — Interwest will prepare a plan and profile for the proposed underpass. At this time, it is assumed Biala C:t)lll' M Standard Box Culvert and Wing Walls will be used (no structural engineering will be provided. No lighting or pumping is currently anticipated. Estimated Fee: $7,500 Utility Coordination and Potholes — Interwest will meet with affected utility companies and work to determine the required relocations throughout the design process. The fee below includes meeting and coordination time as well as 10 utility potholes by Colorado Boring Company and one day of Traffic Control. Estimated Fee: $6,000 Floodplain process assistance — Interwest will assist the City with the Floodplain Use Permit required for the project. It is our understanding that the area will not need HEC modeling, but an analysis of the cut and fill proposed below the Fossil Creek "pool" elevation will be required. Additionally, the work will be in the erosion buffer and we will work to determine a way to keep the crossing higher than some minor, flood event. Estimated Fee: $3,500 1218 W. ASH, STE. No changes to the through lanes or grade of Trilby Road are included. 2. Specifications, quantities, and contract documents provided by others. 3. Environmental, structural and geotcchnical engineering provided by others. 4. No CA or CM work (including construction or as built surveying) is included. Schedule Interwest will begin work on the project immediately. Depending on the cooperation of the affected utility companies, the project can be completed prim to 2012.
