The most popular menu item is gyros. Gyros are a sandwich served on toasted pita bread. They include lamb and beef, tomatoes, onions, tzaziki sauce, and feta cheese. Gyros are served in a deli paper sleeve. Response to the gyro from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. There are some customers who have been buying gyros from Tumbleweed Super Tasty Treats for over ten years, and alumni of Colorado State University often make it a point to stop by the stand for a fondly remembered snack. Hummus wraps are also served on pita bread, dressed in the same manner as a gyro, but in place of the lamb and beef, Tumbleweed Super Tasty Treats adds a hearty, slightly spicy hummus. Many customers adhere to a vegetarian diet, so it is important to offer an attractive menu option that will satisfy them. The hummus is popular enough that many customers order it in their sandwich in addition to the Iamb and beef in a gyro. Tumbleweed also serves hot dogs and bratwursts. Many customers are particularly price conscious, and hot dogs and bratwursts provide an economic choice. Tumbleweed serves Johnsonville Brats and Oscar Meyer All -Beef Franks. They are available with a wide choice of toppings. Gyros and hummus wraps cost $4, bratwursts cost $2.50, and hot dogs cost $1.50. All sandwiches are made to order quickly while the customer watches. Tumbleweed Super Tasty Treats seeks to convey a sense of urgency and courteousness while serving a high volume of customers in a short period. Quality/Appearance of Equipment Tumbleweed Super Tasty Treats employs a stainless steel food cart. The food preparation equipment is kept immaculately clean. All mechanical systems are designed to be easily maintained and reliable in all weather conditions. All surfaces of Tumbleweed's food cart are made from 14 gauge stainless steel. The structure is a steel frame, each beam of which is enclosed in stainless steel, with stainless steel panels welded to the frame. Heat for cooking is provided by propane burners. A typical night of business consumes 12 pounds of propane. Most of that heat is applied to a 25" x 45" griddle. All gyros and hummus wraps are cooked on this griddle. Next to the griddle is a steam table, where hot dogs and bratwursts are held hot and ready to serve. A hand sink is powered by a compact, sealed 12 volt battery. Hot and cold running water is available for hand washing. The water heater is powered by propane. The cart contains a supply tank and a gray water tank. Since opening in Fort Collins, customers have decorated the customer facing side of the food cart with stickers. Most stickers are from local businesses owned by or employing Tumbleweed's patrons. All these stickers are inspected before being permitted to be applied. It is important that all customers feel welcome, and so stickers must be "G-rated" in order to be approved.
