Project Description and Scope of Services
Dear Karen -
Attached is the project scrape and description that we -discussed:
Description .
fnterwest and King Surveyors will provide engineering and surveying services necessary to create plans for
construction and stormwater permitting for approximately 1,800 linear feet of concrete trail along the existing
asphalt trail aligmnent at the Gustav Swanson Naturel�Aiea.
Scope of Services ,
Surveying - Topographic sarvey - King Surveyorswill provide four phases of topographic survey. The initial
phase will include topographic survey 20' either side o the existing.trail alignment along with the west half of the
existing parking lot. The second phase will get cx st g elevations precisely at the location of the design cross
sections so that an accurate comparison of existing`. and proposed ground can be made after construction is
completed. The third phase will include staking out the trail for the contractor prior to construction. The final
phase of survey will occur during construction of the trail and include form checks and as built elevations at the
location of the design cross sections which will -tie compiled in the final as built plans for floodplaiu

Estimated Fee: $9, 000 -
Trail plan,.proflle and grading - Interwest will prepare plan, profile, grading, cross section, and detail drawings
for the trail in a form similar to other trail projects recently completed for Park Planning.
Estimated Fee: $3, 900
Floodplain process assistance.- lnterwest will assish'the City with the floodplain documentation necessary to
construct the project including benchmarks and BFE:elevations along the trail segments. interwest will also
incorporate the as -built survey points (provided by King) into exhibits to compare thedesignto the as -built
conditions and close out the City Floudplain Pertnitsi,,,:

Reimbursables- for prints, mileage, and deliveries; etc:.

Assumptions— .
1. Specifications, quantities, and contract docti rients provided by others.
2. Environmental and geotechnical engineering provided by others.
3. No CA or CM work is included.
. 4. Stormwater Management Plan and Discharge parmit will be provided by the Contractor.
5. No permitting tasks will be completed by Interwest.
Schedule
Interwest and King Surveyors will begin work on the,project immediately in hopes of bidding the project in June
or July, 2011. However, the schedule will likely be'depondent on the floodplain review.
