Fossil Creek Trail Plan Consolidation
Project Description and Scope of Services
Interwest Consulting Group
Description:
Interwest has completed plans for approximately 1,300 linear feet of recreation trail from County Road 38E to
Luther Lane through the Taft Canyon Subdivision, 300 linear feet of recreation trail on the north side of County
Road 38E and the Trail north to Spring Canyon Park. PBS&J is in the process of completing plans for an
underpass below 38E. There are 3 separate plan sets that will be integrated into one bid package, one CAD base
map for the purposes of surveying, and have a single Stormwater Management Plan. Since the original 38E
project is now closed, this new project will donate $1,000 of design fee back to the City.
Scone of Services
Plan Integration — Interwest will combine the 3 existing plan sets into a single package for bidding. Interwest
will also adjust the 3 separate CAD base maps into a single drawing on a single horizontal and vertical datum.
Additionally, the portion of trail north of 38E is still being modified due to changes in the proposed retaining
walls, modifications to this set of plans will be made based on the requirements of the structural design and
floodplain analysis (both by others). Interwest will also provide an outside review of the PBS&J underpass
documents as a part of this task.
Estimated Fee: $7,800
Surveying — Miscellaneous — King Surveyors will be available to the City to stake out the proposed
improvements as may be required for public outreach or to determine impacts of the proposed retaining walls, etc.
This item may or may not be necessary for the completion of the project and will only be utilized at the direction
of the City.
Estimated Fee: $2,000
Combined SWMP — Interwest will expand the original SWMP to include all 3 projects under one single permit.
This will include maps showing off site access locations. Interwest will also assist in preparing specifications for
stormwater management and be available present the requirements of the SWMP to the potential contractors at the
pre -bid meeting.
Estimated Fee: $2,200
F000dplain Use Permit —Interwest will assist the City in preparation of the Floodplain Use Permit that will be
required for the spur crossing of Spring Creek. This will include exhibits required for the permit and "as built'
documentation after completion of the project.
Estimated Fee: $1,800
Meetings —Interwest will attend meetings as requested by the City. This may include meetings with the public,
other City staff, the pre -bid and the pre -construction meetings.
