Fort Collins Fare Media Module Upgrade to UltraBadge Enterprise
The Fare Media module enables users to produce customized passes, including magnetic strip
encoding and barcode printing capabilities. This module includes:
O SQL database/web enabled application
O Browser architecture
O Ability to produce personalized identification passes and badges for employees, special
events flash passes, vendors or guests
O Easily, maintained and updated
O Base level design includes data encrypted access sign -on for security
0 Analytical tools (including support for Crystal Reports)
O Database conversion of existing AutoBadge system
O UltraBadge Enterprise will have the same system functionality as the existing system
including all current pass ID's, pass types and reports.
O Ability to add or change the identification or pass type for special events or fare structure
changes
O Software configured for magnetically encoding cards to the current encoding specifications
O Magnetic Stripe encoding or barcode printing capabilities. Smart Card encoding set-up
available for an additional fee
O Digital image capture capability with high -resolution half tones
O License authorizes three video capture/print station, unlimited user viewing and paper report
printing, and data access functionality for unlimited network users. Additional licenses can
be added for an additional fee.
O The server and workstation requirements for this module are listed.

Hardware
The following hardware and supplies will be provided by Productive Solutions as part of the Fort
Collins Fare Media Module Up -Grade to UltraBadge Enterprise.
Printer
Three PS-DCP240+ Direct -Card Printer with Hi-Coercivity/Low-Coercivity Magnetic Encoder
with Single -Sided print capabilities. Uses color dye sublimation and monochrome thermal
transfer. Featuring edge -to -edge direct card printing, with a print resolution of 300 DPI. Printer
comes with an input hopper capacity of 100 cards and output hopper capacity of 40 cards.
Features convenient, automatic front card loading and output, an advanced cleaning roller
system and USB 1.1 Interface. Printer comes with Two -Year manufacturer's warranty.
Consumables
Ribbon
Three Ribbons, includes 1 self-adhesive cleaning roller and card.
Software Support
Productive Solutions is committed to ensuring excellence in client satisfaction and will provide
full system software support for one year after installation of the Fare Media system. Annual
support services include:
O Unlimited toll free telephone support during normal business hours
O Dedicated and experienced U.S. based help desk technicians
O An automated system for tracking each issue through resolution
O Online support through Logmein (or a comparable product), which enables Productive
Solutions to log in and provide remote technical support directly on the system, with limited
disruption to system users. This service is available upon approval by IT:
O Productive Solutions will also provide online help and user manuals
Server System Requirements
The following hardware must be supplied by Loveland and Fort Collins Transit and approved by
Productive Solutions.
O Windows 2000 Server or greater or XP Professional Operating System SP1 or greater
O Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
O ASP.NET Framework v 2.0
O Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or SQLExpress 2005 (free version)
O Microsoft SQL Reporting Services - Report Server and Report Manager Components
O Local Area Network for LAN access
O The application directory and any photo files are stored on the server running IIS. We can
install either on a single server containing IIS and SQL, or the data can be stored separately
on an SQL Server (with Reporting Services.) If installing on two boxes, a Network
Administrator will need to be available to assist in modifying any permissions necessary for
the application to access the
O SQL Server across the network.

Productive Solutions
Software upgrade and hardware replacement
Productive Solutions from Reno, Nevada have supplied software and hardware for our
fare media needs since 2003. The supplied software and hardware allows Transfort to
print passes with special GFI GENFARE encoding on the magnetic stripe. We are able
to use the software / hardware to create special passes and regular passes as well as
re -encode unused passes with new valid dates.
GFI GENFARE who manufactures the electronic Cents -A -Bill fareboxes and Automatic
Fare Collection system that Transfort uses on a daily basis has certified that productive
Solutions is the only external vendor they currently work with to provide their proprietary
encryption for use with their software and hardware.
The software upgrade is at a reduced rate from the full retail price of the new version.
Loveland Transit was quote $9700 for the newest hardware and software, while the Fort
Collins upgrade is priced at $4995. Our existing hardware at 7 years old is no longer
supported by the manufacturer at reasonable rates and will not work with the new
version of software.
CI Solutions has a printing system available. Three DCP240+ units with magnetic
encoding would cost $7500 and CI Solutions cannot provide software compatible with
the GFI system. Productive Solutions will provide three new printers at the same price.
In addition, there will be $2000 for installation, data conversion and training, plus $1500
for travel expenses. Total cost: $15,995.
For reasons of compatibility and cost, we believe the Productive Solutions upgrade offer
should be accepted.
