Introduction to Delta Dental Wellness Program
Delta Dental is involved in a number of programs relating to wellness and evidence -based dentistry.
The more formal aspects of these programs are being introduced in 2010.
-- Dental Optimizer provides members with the opportunity to self -assess their risk for oral disease and provides information
on oral disease, oral care and some basic information on the oral -systemic link.
-- We have partnered with employers to provide oral and systemic health information as part of their medical incentivized
wellness programs.
-- We have given oral -systemic health presentations to large groups.
-- Delta Dental offers group based reports that include information on the importance of oral health for good general health,
how members are accessing and using specific treatments, such as preventive treatments, periodontal cleanings and
other measures.
-- We plan to have an Ask -the -Dentist section on our website for a specific list of oral care and disease topics.
