Contract Description:
- Documents are available at fcgov.com/purchasing.
- Bid opening is on June 24 at 3:00 at 215 N. Mason
- For work under $100,000
- Contract is for 1 year and renewable for up to 4 additional years
- Contract can be utilized by all City departments
- No Guaranteed minimum amount of services to be ordered
- Larimer County Urban Area Standards and CDOT standards
Scope of Work:
- Structure repairs and installations - 12'x 2.5' CIP Box Culvert replacement in
mind for late 2009
- Earthwork - we typically use this contract to haul excess dirt from construction
projects to future construction sites
- Inlet and curb modifications to fix drainage issues
- Patching, and minor pavement projects
- Sidewalks and trails - thru Parks department
Line Item Prices
- Includes all equipment, labor materials, profit and overhead required for the work.
- Contract includes provisions for unforeseen material, labor, equipment, profit and
overhead for work not specifically defined by a line item.
Contractor Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience in excavation, roadway or pipeline work
- Contractor must be licensed to work within the Right of Way with the City of Fort
Collins Engineering Dept.
Procedure for Work Orders
Onsite meeting with City Representative — incidental to the work
City will provide plans if available
City will provide quantities for the requested work and the cost based on line item
prices
City will setup a work order.
Contractor will be required to start work within two weeks of the work order date.
Contractor will provide a schedule for the work to the City of Fort Collins
Mobilization:
- $500 for work orders under $10,000
- 5% of contract amount for work over $10,000
Estimating Provisions:
This Contract has provisions for hourly billing for project management that can be
negotiated with City Staff if detailed layout and quantities are not provided to the
contractor.
Line Items:
The bid tab is a shopping list of services that the City can tap into for small scale
construction projects.
There is no guarantee that the City will use all the line items on the contract.
Some notes:
- Potholing is incidental to the work.
- The City will provide survey and material testing
- Class P Pavement needs to meet CDOT flexural strength requirements
- There are no provisions for concrete pavement reinforcing steel.
- Flatwork is to CDOT Class B spec of 4500 PSI concrete
- All Concrete and asphalt mix designs need to be approved by City of Fort Collins
Engineering before being installed.
- Truncated domes are included in the SF price of sidewalk ramps. The City's
approved product list allows East Jordan Iron Works and Neenah Foundry steel
truncated dome panels. The City does not allow brick, ceramic or plastic
truncated domes.
- Street Sweeping is incidental to work — City Codes and Colorado Erosion
compliance requires construction sites keep tracking of dirt on streets to a
minimum. Street sweeping may be required and will be considered incidental
