Authorizing Expenditure of Appropriated Funds within the
Apparatus Replacement Capital Project for Expenditure on
Refurbishment of Truck 1, and Authorizing the Fire Chief to
Sign all Contracts, Including those Over $20,000 for the
Refurbishment of Truck 1
Whereas, the Apparatus Replacement capital project has a current
balance of $728,451, and
Whereas, Truck 1 was purchased in 1997, and since then, a dwindling
inventory of available parts for repairs has become a major concern. The result
is increased out -of -service time and the unreliability of an important piece of
reserve equipment, and
Whereas, PFA has received a bid from Rosenbauer/General Safety for
$469,131to completely refurbish Truck 1 including a new cab and chassis, but
utilizing the current aerial portion of the truck and other available parts from Truck
1. Additionally, there is an 8% contingency of $37,530 and a transportation cost
of $6,142, which brings the total expenditure to $512,803.
Now therefore, the PFA Board of Directors authorizes expenditure of
$512,803 within the Apparatus Replacement capital project (98789903.544300)
on refurbishment of Truck 1, and authorizes the Fire Chief to sign all contracts,
including those over $20,000 for the refurbishment of Truck 1.
Approved by the PFA Board of Directors this 22"d day of September,
2009.
