REN BURKE -letter of intent 620 Cowan Street Fort Collins, CO 80524 970.988.0370 - patinatrix@gniail.coin FORT COLLINS ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROGRAM 2009 DESIGN CONSULTANT RESOURCE LIST For the past 6 years, I have been working as the public art coordinator for the National Sculptors' Guild of Loveland, CO. This organization of local and national artists has placed nearly 300 public art installations across the country since its inception in 1992. My capacity within the Guild is to facilitate communication and collaborative design work between our sculptors and the commissioning agencies. As an artist myself, I am often asked to offer creative input during a project's design phase. In this capacity, I have contributed to numerous artwork placements for public spaces. I have experience in designing, creating and installing both two and three-dimensional art. My formal art education focused on painting and drawing, but I have also sculpted relief work and pieces in the round. My acquired skill as a patina artist in the bronze art casting and architectural metal industries has allowed me to meld the color and tonal qualities of painting with the metal finishing techniques and three -dimensions of sculpture. In addition, I am also familiar with the maintenance and conservation requirements of many varied artistic media. Through the utilization of a design team approach, public spaces are made more user- friendly, environmentally conscious and attractive. I would embrace the opportunity to work alongside design professionals to attain these meaningful goals. I can envision many creative ways to address the needs of new constructions, as well as existing plans slated for refurbishment. I am confident that my artistic and collaborative skills as well as my work within the realm of public art can produce successful and aesthetically attractive results. I would like to express my gratitude to the selection committee for this exciting opportunity to once again enhance the City of Fort Collins. Thank you, Ren Burke, Artist Fort Collins, CO ADRIENNE (Ren) BURKE 620 Cowan Street Fort Collins, Colorado 80524 970.988.0370 - patinatrix@gmail.com PERSONAL: Born July 20111, 1970 Landstuhl am Pfaltz, W.
