°
° Dear Art in Action Project Committee,
°
° My work is structured around an experi-
° mental approach to art, architecture, and
°
° design. Rather than working within a
° narrow spectrum, I attempt to operate
° within a multidisciplinary platform. This
° production model enables me to employ a
° wide variety of tools from a diverse
°
° resource network. For each new challenge
° I aim to transform careful observations and
° research into built objects or environments
° that engage people in unexpected and
° meaningful ways.
°
°
° Past projects that I have been involved
I with have relied heavily on digital modeling
° and fabrication techniques. However, I feel
I it is important to maintain a hands on
°
° approach to utilize timeless techniques in
° the development and implementation of
° ideas. The examination of a project
° through computer modeling, physical
° models, and full scale mock-ups often
°
° leads to the discovery of new opportunities
I that can exploit the physical, conceptual,
I economic, and practical limitations of the
° project.
°
°
I 1 believe that exploring the intersections of
I art, architecture, and design can provide
I exceptional experiences, social interaction
° and physical engagement. The most
I rewarding element of my work is produc-
I
° ing objects, environments, or atmospheres
I that have positive impacts on their
I surroundings and that embody a sense of
° quality, wonderment, joy, sensation, and
° surprise.
Sincerely,
°
I
