HomeMy WebLinkAboutCORRESPONDENCE - RFP - 7013 CITY PARK NINE GOLF PROFESSIONAL AND CONCESSIONAIRE (2)300 Jackson Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado W521 970.484.3473 Fort Collins Golf Board February 24, 2009 To whom it may concern, I am writing this letter to highly recommend Rick Frye as the head golf professional at City Park Nine golf course. I am an avid golfer who is a past president and present treasurer of the, Women 18-hole Golf League at Collindale and have been a member for almost 20 years. Also, I live in the City Park neighborhood and frequent the City Park Nine golf course with my family. I feel Rick will be a very positive addition to the City Park Golf Course as he started his profession there and has had many years of experience as a head professional since. I have known Rick since 1976 when he met his wife Marsha. Rick and Marsha, who were both raised, in the Colorado Springs area, attended CSU and started their family here, loved being a part of the Fort Collins community and have wanted to come back to it for some time. They have family nearby and this would be a wonderful opportunity for them to come back 'home'. Rick is a very nice and personable fellow with a fun loving attitude. Along with the many years experience Rick brings to the position, as wellIas his deep family commitment, I feel he will do a wonderful job as the head professional at City Park Nine. Thank you and please accept any recommendation. Kim Noranandin Owner/ WN Design i To Whom It May Concern: Please accept this letter as one of support for Rick Frye. I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Rick for the past 20 years. As President of the Men's Golf Association at Bent Tree for 3 years and as a member of the Bent Tree Board of Directors, I worked closely with Rick in his capacity as Head Golf Professional. During his tenure he grew the membership and participation in all facets of the golf program. Not only did he work hard to take care of the membership, but was influential in bringing local civic groups and other "outside" groups to Bent Tree. By organizing everything from charity events to corporate outings, Rick exposed a larger group to the club, helped many deserving charities, and generated much needed revenue for our golf operation. During his tenure as professional at Bent Tree I saw his expertise in merchandising and providing the membership and guests with opportunities to access quality merchandise at competitive prices. I know through our business relationship that Rick must have an excellent reputation with his suppliers in the golf industry. I've also known Rick from our banking relationship over a number of years. He has always handled his personal and business accounts in an exemplary manner. Rick's staffs at the club were well trained and performed their duties in a professional manner, being service oriented and helpful to the customer's needs. If I could be of any service in further discussing Rick professionally or personally, feel free to contact me at home or work. Home- (706) 253-3189 Work- (706) 253-9600 Sincerely, John Trammell, President Community Bank of Pickens County To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Rick Frye. Rick served as Head Golf Professional at Bent Tree Community, Inc. Jasper, Georgia from 1987 to 1999. I was the General Manager for 17 years at Bent Tree, prior to my retirement, and had the opportunity to hire Rick and work with him during that period of time. Rick managed the day to day golf operations at Bent Tree very well. During his management we saw progressive growth in our community along with increased participation by the membership and guests in our golf program. Our tournament play was up along with our rounds of golf. The pro shop merchandise was very professionally laid out and presented to the membership. The golf shop atmosphere was friendly, one of welcome and how can we serve. Rick is a dedicated family man, community oriented and is a worker in his church. The strongest recommendation for someone is the question, "Would you employ that person again?" I would answer that question, Yes. Paul D. I have known Rick, his wife Marsha, and his family since 1985 when Rick worked at City Park Nine. Rick is a person of great integrity and character who has excelled at his positions at various golf clubs while successfully raising a family with four children. Rick is not only a great family man, but works very well with people he meets on and off the course and has a keen sense of business and fairness. If you are seeking an accomplished professional of great character with long time ties to Fort Collins who is a true asset to our community, then I recommend that.you appoint Rick Frye as Club Pro at City Park Nine. If you need further comment, I can be reached at Pringle's Fine Wine & Spirits at (970) 221-1717. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Phil Pringle To Whom It May Concern, I have known Rick Frye and his wife Marsha for nearly 30 years. My wife Karen and I were close friends with the Fryes before they moved from Fort Collins in 1987, and have maintained a relationship with them over the years that they have been away, as have others in Fort Collins. Rick was an asset to City Park Nine when he worked there as the assistant pro, and I think would be a great choice to fill the opening you now have for the golf professional position. He has excellent business sense, is good with people, and is not afraid to think outside the box, a much desired quality in these times. Rick and Marsha are both graduates of CSU, and like Karen and I have close ties to the university and the Fort Collins community. Rick has had success in his other golf professional positions, and has also been a success in raising his four kids with Marsha. We would.love to have them back in Fort Collins, and I believe it would be a smart move for the City to name him as the golf professional at City Park Nine. Thank you for your consideration.
