'4 r THE RIGHT SKILLS Getting in touch with students is just the start. Next, HR will evaluate a prospective candidate's skill set and talents and match them up with the company's criteria. But what are those criteria exactly? Lamack says that involvement in both on campus and off campus activities is important. "For example, if they're involved in Habitat for Humanity or Engineers Without Borders, these are great organizations. Those kinds of things are easily translatable into being successful in our company, where we also value our involvement in the community," he says. "Another very important thing we look for are individuals who have taken it upon themselves to have some fairly meaningful internships or co-ops, whether it be in our company or other companies. What we're trying to do is build the future leaders of our company, and that person usually is a well-rounded person who understands technology, has a strong business sense, and has a sense of loyalty to the community," Lamack says. Meanwhile, in terms of skill sets, Air Products outlined what. it looks for. We're looking for people who have demonstrated a lot of different skills: ability to solve technical problems, ability to work on teams, and ability to solve problems individually as well as in a group. They have to be good communicators, and they have to be able to demonstrate leadership qualities," explains Tracey Saccani, manager of corporate recruiting in North America for Air Products. Grace looks for several key things when assessing MBA candidates: their previous work experience the increasing responsibility and challenges the candidate faced in their previous work life and finally any leadership activities the candidate has demonstrated throughout their work history and educational life. "It's a combination of things we try to look at their background, skills and leadership capabilities," says Vincent. Grace is hiring into both its finance and marketing programs. It generally looks for people with a strong background in business, though not necessarily related to the company's specific industry. "Of course, we expect our students to have a true passion for science or their related topics, but more important for us is the right personality and the cultural fit of each individual," says Werner. 1 11 ° 11 . • Article 8, Item 8.2 Maintenance and Repair of the Concession Agreement should be amended to read as follows: 8.2 Maintenance and Repair. Costs of repair and maintenance for City owned equipment and fixtures (defined in Article 9) shall be split fifty fifty (50/50) between Concessionaire and the City. Concessionaire shall submit all requests for repairs or maintenance to the City Representative. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, the City shall not in any way be liable to the Concessionaire for failure to make repairs as herein specifically required of it unless the Concessionaire has previously notified the City in writing of a need for such repairs, and the City has failed to commence and complete said repairs within a reasonable period of time following receipt of the Concessionaire's written notification. • Article 17, Item 17.22 Prohibition Against Employing Illegal Aliens should be deleted.
