(Our Clock) December 10, 2008 To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above, the following changes are hereby made. CHANGE: The bid opening date has been changed to December 10, 2008. ADDENDUM: SENIOR CENTER SPECIFICATIONS 1. Section 01022, UNIT PRICES Unit Price item # 1A Clarification: parapet cap flashing should be 24 gage, prefinished to match existing materials. 2. Section 01022, UNIT PRICES Add Unit price item # 3 to read: Replace existing prefinished ridge and hip shingles on all sloped roof areas with new preformed, ventilated ridge shingles and preformed hip shingles, on a per lineal foot basis. Style and color of new shingles shall match the existing laminated architectural shingles. Field shingles to remain in place. 3. Section 01022, UNIT PRICES Add Unit Price item # 2 to read: L.F. New laminated fiberglass shingles, to match existing, as may be needed to replace existing shingles damaged during construction, on a per square foot basis 4. Section 07220 ROOF AND DECK INSULATION Paragraph 2.02 Extruded Polyisocyanurate Board Insulation, Subparagraph A2: Delete reference to Factory Mutual I-90 Criteria. Insulation thickness shall be 4” at 6.0 R-value per inch. 6. Section 07537, THERMOPLASTIC SHEET ROOFING – MECHANICALLY- ATTACHED Paragraph 3.02, Tear – Off, clarification: The thickness of the existing polyisocyanurate insulation is assumed to be 4” thick (based on core sampling), tapering to 7” thick at the roof edges. DRAWINGS None. ATTACHMENTS None. ADDENDUM: EPIC CENTER SPECIFICATIONS 1. Section 01010, SUMMARY OF WORK Paragraph 1.02, Description of Work: Reword subparagraph 1.02.A to read: “General: all work consists of the reroofing of approximately 50,035 SQ. FT. of flat – roof area of the building, extent as indicated on the drawings, including tear – off of existing materials, reinstallation of salvaged rigid board insulation over new vapor barrier, new membrane roofing and flashings with salvaged rock ballast.” 2. Section 01030 ALTERNATES Add the following Bid Alternate: Alternate No. 2: Provide fully adhered EPDM system for small mechanical roof over concrete deck, in lieu of ballasted EPDM system as specified for base bid. Salvaged polyisocyanurate insulation will be reused. 3. Section 01060 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Paragraph 1.05 Permits and Fees: Delete subparagraphs C.1 and C.2. All permits and fees will be paid by the Contractor. 4. Section 07220 ROOF AND DECK INSULATION Paragraph 2.02 Extruded Polyisocyanurate Board Insulation, Subparagraph A: Delete reference to L1.L. Class A, FM I-90 criteria. 5. Section 07220, ROOF AND DECKING INSULATON Paragraph 2.02.A, subparagraph A.2: Revise subparagraph to read: “Thickness: 4” salvaged rigid board insulation to be reinstalled as base bid. Refer to Section 01030 for additional thickness as bid alternate.” 6. Section 07530, ELASTOMERIC SHEET ROOFING – LOOSE- LAID/BALLASTED Paragraph 3.02, Tear – Off, clarification: The thickness of the existing polyisocyanurate insulation is assumed to be 4” thick (based on core sampling), tapering to 6” thick at the crickets. DRAWINGS Sheet A7.1 Details, Details D1, D2 on Sheet A7.1: Parapet cap flashing details were incorrectly drawn. The Parapet cap flashing should be a gravel stop style with EPDM membrane lapping over the top side of the flashing to seal. Refer to attached sheet AD1.0 for detail. ATTACHMENTS 1. 8½” X 11” SHEET - AD1.0 2. Drawing of Staging Area for Crane and Dumpster attached. Any damaged landscaping will be replaced at the contractor’s expense.
