The City continues to be highly interested in opportunities to reduce the volume of trash that it generates from municipal facilities and services, and to recycle as many materials as possible. To that end, per our meeting with Dave Rietema of Waste Management on December 16, 2008 the City's Assistant Operations Services Director is pursuing a series of adjustments to the bin size and pickup frequency in several City pickup locations. It should be duly noted that this is an ongoing process that will continue as the Assistant Director deems necessary for this last renewal year of the existing contract. If this extension is not agreeable with your firm, we ask that you send us a written notice stating that you do not wish to renew the contract and state the reason for non -renewal. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Ed Bonnette, C.P.M., CPPB, Buyer, at 416-2247. Sincerely, r 'J- me B.
