RE: P1140 Elevator Maintenance & Repair
Dear Mr. Perlinger:
As you have been informed by telephone, your firm has been selected for an oral
interview for our Request for Proposal P1140.
Your interview will occur on October 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the
Operations Services Building in the Training Room located at 117 N. Mason in Fort
Collins.
For the interview, you will have 20-30 minutes for a formal presentation in response to
the requirements of the Request for Proposal and then there will be a period of 30-45
minutes in which to discuss the information requested below as well as general
questions and answers.
In order to get a better idea of your firm's practices and invoicing procedures, please
prepare quotes for the following mock repairs to vandalized elevators. Include an
invoice for each repair, as if the work was accomplished as quoted. Please email your
quotes and invoices to Jim Hume, Senior Buyer: ihumePfcgov.com no later than
September 30, 2008.
MOCK REPAIR #1: The elevator at City Park Center, 1599 City Park Avenue, was
vandalized and the door operators will need to be replaced. Also upgrade this elevator
with an electronic safety at the same time, since this upgrade is overdue. There are no
other repairs needed to put this elevator back into operation.
MOCK REPAIR #2: Someone put sand in the hydraulic fluid tank for the north elevator
at Civic Center Parking Garage, 120 North Mason. The pump seized, the motor burned
out, and the valve was trashed. The pump, motor, valve, and all hydraulic fluid and
filters will need to be replaced. The existing system will need to be cleaned and flushed,
prior to the installation of the new components. Only the pump, motor, and valve were
damaged. There are no other repairs needed to put this elevator back into operation.
Disposal of the contaminated hydraulic fluid is also part of the cost of this repair.
