Manitoba Hydro Overview
Manitoba Hydro headquartered in Winnipeg is a major energy utility that serves more than
500 000 electric and 250 000 gas customers Manitoba Hydro is one of Canada s largest energy
and natural gas utilities In 1999 Centro Gas in
Manitoba implemented the Indus Banner CIS and
Alliance Data hosted and operated the system In
April 1999 Westcoast Energy Inc announced the
sale of Centra Gas Manitoba to Manitoba Hydro and
in 2001 Manitoba Hydro purchased a license from
Alliance Data to operate the Indus Banner CIS
system In 2002 Manitoba Hydro announced the
purchase of Winnipeg Hydro Manitoba Hydro s
current initiative is to convert all electric customers
from an existing electric CIS system onto Banner
CIS that currently supports gas customers In doing so Manitoba Hydro continues to rely on the
product and industry expertise of Alliance Data who is helping it to make strategic Banner modifi
cations needed to serve the electric side of the business Alliance Data also provides Manitoba
Hydro with Remittance Processing services

peak usage Our consultants assisted the client with the design and configura
tion of the Load Balancer and the on-line recovery procedures Additionally
they installed and configured OAS for development test and QA environments
including issue triaging and solving application issues
■ OAS User Creation Technical Consultants created User Creation scripts that
will add users to the application server based on creation of a user id on the da
tabase These scripts greatly eased the new user creation procedures (due to the
number of application servers for which a user id is required)
• Java — We assisted in determining the correct version of JRE in order to proac
tively avoid and resolve some application issues
• Customer Suite Installation - Technical Consultants have installed Customer
Suite web forms along with modifications that were put into 4 0 for the OneOK
