CSU Transit Center- Response to RFI #16 Attachments: RFI #16 sketch. pdf 17 RFI *16 sla t. .pdf (99 KB) Max - Below is our response from our electrical engineer in regards to the electrical conduit in the women's bathroom. I wanted to send these options to you to pass along to Wayne's Electric for their input before answering this RFI officially. Here are my comments for these options: Option #1: This option is not possible by code. Option #2: This option is too expensive (Approx. $20,000) to add new copper line to the panel. Option #3: This is a viable option but this will use up most of the panel. Option #4: I would prefer this option above all. We would have to splice the line and cut the slab to get this to work, but I think it is the best solution as far as costs go. Our Electrical Engineer is concerned about cutting the steel pipe to expose the line as well as the time required to splice while power is down. I have attached a sketch describing my intentions. We can provide j-boxes in the wall and also above the ceiling for the splices. Please let me know if option #4 can be done, and call with any questions. Jay R. Lamicq, Assoc. Attached is Electrical Field Observation Report #1. Regarding the existing electrical feeder that rises vertically through WOMENS RR 050 to existing Panel "NM": Option 1) Remove one toilet and move the handicapped stall north, this could save cost, and the electrical feeder riser can remain in its present location. Or, Option 2) Remove feeder conductors and abandon existing conduit below slab. Remove feeder riser in handicapped stall. Provide new 100 Ampere feeder, to replace existing, to Panel "NM" from existing 100A/3P switch/fuse unit in Sub -Distribution Switchboard "SDC-5", (4#2 & It 8G)1-1/2"C. This new feeder may be routed beside the new feeder to new Panel "NFl/NF2". This method is preferred to Options 3 and 4. Or, Option 3) Remove feeder conductors and abandon existing conduit below slab. Remove feeder riser in handicapped stall. Provide new 100 Ampere feeder, to replace existing, to Panel "NM" from new 100A/3P circuit breaker in New Panel "L1A", (4#2 $ 1#8G)1-1/2"C. This method is not recommended as it will use most of the spare capacity presently designed in the New 400A Panel "L1A" and motor inrush voltage drop issues may be an issue. Or, Option 4) Remove feeder conductors and replace with new feeder conductors in existing conduit below slab. Cut and patch concrete floor to reroute feeder around handicapped stall to existing Panel "NM". This method is not preferred as it appears more costly than above options and a lengthy power outage to existing panel "NM" would be necessary. Let me know if you have any questions or desire more information to price or select one of the options above. Thanks, Curt No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
