The design grade of the 18" RCP pipe was in conflict with an existing
24" walermain. It did not provide the necessary 1 B" cover that COFC
Water Utility Dept. required. In order to safely correct the conflict, It
was decided to place the 18" RCP within 2 feet of the roadway surface
and use flow fill to backfill the pipe crossing. The bottom of the
flowfilled trench is 17" above the 24" watermain and the top of the 18"
RCP pipe is 18" from the roadway surface.
