HomeMy WebLinkAboutRFP - P979 ART IN PUBLIC PLACESArts & Humanities Month Poster Competition-2005 City of Fort Collins Cultural Resources Board Request for Proposal P979 The City’s Cultural Resources Board is requesting designs for artwork to be incorporated into a poster to advertise Arts & Humanities Month in October, 2005. PROJECT The Cultural Resources Board annually promotes Arts & Humanities Month each October. The City requests color drawings, paintings, (etc.) either representational or abstract concepts, demonstrating a theme related to arts and humanities. The winning designs will be used as the design for the Arts & Humanities Month poster. The posters will be distributed throughout Fort Collins and be highly visible to the public. TIME LINE Submission Deadline: April 29, 2005 Finalists Chosen: May 26. 2005 Installation: October 1, 2005 ELIGIBILITY Artwork will be accepted from Fort Collins resident artists, in grades K-12 and under the age of 18. Each artist may submit only one drawing. SELECTION PROCESS The selection committee may consist of members of the Cultural Resources Board, a graphic designer, and/or others the Board chooses to invite. The committee will review submissions and either recommend finalists or make a final recommendation. The selection committee reserves the right to reject any or all entries at any time in the review and selection process. SELECTION CRITERIA Suitability of the design to the mission of this project, including form, content, scale and clarity. APPLICATION MATERIALS TO BE SUBMITTED 1. Format: 11”x17” maximum, 8 ½” x 11 minimum 2. Design: Color, 2-Dimensional, any medium (painting, drawing, pencil, photograph, pastel, mosaic, fiber) 3. All first- time publication rights are reserved by the sponsor. The sponsor will use the art in the most appropriate manner for the creation of a poster to advertise Arts & Humanities Month. Each artist may submit only one drawing. The City is not responsible for any damage/loss of artwork. Artwork that is not selected by the committee may be picked up at the Lincoln Center Administration Office on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Any artwork that is not picked up will be disposed. I have read the Arts & Humanities Month Poster Competition-2005 Request for Proposal Form, and I understand that if my design is selected, it will be reproduced by the City of Fort Collins and placed in a public place. I further understand and agree that the City will be the sole owner of any and all rights to the design and to any reproductions of the design.
