LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION: • Substantial Completion is defined as: the completion of all pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, ramps, underground utility work, inlets, storm drainage work, structures, medians, eanhwork and any other pertinent items as required for this project. The trail must be striped and opened to traffic. • If substantial completion has not been met within 180 calendar days, then the Contractor will be charged liquidated damages of $800,00 per calendar day until substantial completion has been met. - FINAL COMPLETION: • After the City of Fort Collins Engineer has determined that Substantial Completion has been met, the contractor has 14 calendar days to reach final completion. The Contractor will be charged $250.00 for each calendar day or fraction thereof that expires after the 14 day period until work is ready for Final Payment and Acceptance. Highlights from the General Requirements: WARRANTY: — The Contractor will be required to warranty the trail improvements 2 years after date of final acceptance. • CONSTRUCTION HOURS: — The operation of all machinery and vehicles must take place between the hours of: • 7:00 AM thru 6:00 PM Monday thru Friday - The Contractor may request extended hours or weekend hours — The requests must be approved in writing by the City of Fort Collins 5 days prior to any work- 5 Highlights from the General Requirements: • CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING: — Provided by the City of Fort Collins' Engineering - Survey Department — Requires 48 hour notice • TRAFFIC CONTROL: — Provided by the Contractor. — Lump Sum to include any flagging, equipment, TCS, etc. — Will be coordinated with Syl Mireles. • GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIALS TESTING: — Provided by the Owner. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to schedule the testing. Highlights from the General Requirements: • PROJECT MEETING: — Once a week on -site, time and place to be determined. The TCS will be required to attend all weekly meetings. • PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS: — Schedules shall be updated weekly. The schedule for this project is important to the City of Fort Collins. The Contractor may be required to submit additional schedules depending on the progress of the project. • HAUL ROUTES: — Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be allowed to use residential streets to access the site with trucks hauling materials. — The Site will be accessible via Stabilized Construction Entrances at the arterial roadway/trail intersections. • SITE CLEAN-UP: — The Construction work and processes shall be kept and accomplished in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Due to the high visibility of this job, it is important to keep a professional looking site. 0 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: TRAFFIC CONTROL: — The traffic control for these projects will be paid for by the Lump Sum to the Contractor and will include all costs for the traffic control associated with this project. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • TRAFFIC CONTROL: — Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and approved 72 hours prior to the start of construction and before making each modification. — See Construction Traffic Control Plans for Roadway Crossing at Harmony Road —You will still need to submit control plans to the City 72 hours before the closure takes effect — The Traffic Control Tabulation is the consultant engineer's estimate based on the above plans — Traffic Control will be paid as Lump Sum — Local access must be maintained at all times for all commercial and private entrances 7 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK AREA SAFETY: • WORK AREA SAFETY: - The Contractor shall provide, at the Contractor's expense, all work area safety control devices, such as barricades and safety fence around all excavations, trenches and drop offs.
