Ellis, Principal Jefferson County Schools This was a General Contractor project, that was com- petitively bid, comprised of remodeling and upgrading approximately 81,000 sf. of existing middle school fa- cility and the addition of 40,000 sf. of new classroom and administrative space. The particular challenge of this project was coordinat- ing the construction phases while school remained in session. The project was divided up into 5 phases. Our responsi- bilities included all phases of the development including; Design Consultant selection,, Project Estimating and Budget development, Trade Contractor bidding/selection and man- agement, and facility permitting and commissioning. This building included a 4,800 square foot "State of the Art " Laboratory wing, a 2,100 square foot Conference area, a 3,100 square foot Maintenance / Garage area, and 16,000 square feet of Office and Administrative areas. The construction began in November 2001 and was com- pleted in November 2003. "The District finds that Weaver proves to be a great asset to the design team when we incorporate your services early in the design process. This allows us to look at different solutions to problems, to analyze cost i nplications and to improve on the overall de- sign.
