TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK
AREA SAFETY:
♦ TRAFFIC CONTROL:
- Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and approved 72
hours prior to the start of construction and before making
each modification.
- Full road closures must be submitted 3 weeks prior to any
work being done.
- Local Residential & Construction Access:
• Local access must be maintained at all times for east and west
bound movements where the following streets intersect Ziegler
Road:
- Trilby Road
- Shallow Pond Drive
• Construction access must be maintained at all times for the
construction of Kinard Junior High School AVA

- The Contractor shall provide, at the Contractor's expense, all

SUMMARY OF WORK:
♦ TRILBY AND ZIEGLER IMPROVEMNTS:
- The improverrents include widening Ziegler Road from Shallow
Pond Drive sotth to Trilby Road to a 2 lane collector width
with: Curb antlgutter, bikelanes, sidewalk and asphalt paving.
This project aWo connects Trilby Road along the Kinard Junior
Higgh School poperty. The new Trilby Road connection will be
a 2 lane colledtor with: curb and gutter, bikelanes, sidewalk,
asphalt pavillandscaped median, 24' FCLWD waterline
connection arr►tllstormsewer improvements. Old Legacy Drive
in the Homesigad Development Just north of the school site
will have a cuFde-sac constructed with this project also.
- Closures for tkt waterline improvements and top lift will be
granted with -Ais project.

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
♦ SUPERINTENDENTS:
- The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time Superintendent whose 2912
responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of the work.
♦ LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
- SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION:
♦ Sustantial Completion is defined as: the completion of all pavement, curb
and gutter, sidewalks, ramps, underground utility work, inlets, storm
drainage work, medians, earthwork and any other pertinent items as
regcared for this project. The roadway must be striped and opened to
traffic.
• If substantial completion has not been met by October 31 2005, then the
Contractor will be charged liquidated damages of $1,150.60 per calendar
day until substantial completion has been met.

- The Contractor will be required to warranty the street
improvements 2 years after date of final acceptance.

- The operation of all machinery and vehicles must take
place between the hours of:

- The requests must be approved by the City of Fort

♦ CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING:
- Provided by the Contractor.
♦ TRAFFIC CONTROL:
- Provided by the Contractor.
♦ GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIALS
TESTING:
- Provided by the Owner. It will be the Contractor's
responsibility to schedule the testing.

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ'S:
♦ PROJECT MEETING:
- Once a week on -site, time and place to be determined. The
TCS will be required to attend all weekly meetings.
♦ PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS:
- Schedules shall be updated weekly. The schedule for this
project is important to the City of Fort Collins. The Contractor
may be required to submit additional schedules depending on
the progress of the project.
♦ HAUL ROUTES:
- Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be
allowed to use residential streets to access the site with trucks
hauling materials.

♦ SITE CLEAN-UP:
- The Construction work and processes shall be kept and
accomplished in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Due to the
high visibility of this job, it is important to keep a professional
looking site.
SITE COORDINATION WITH
OTHER CONTRACTORS:
♦ PSD / FCI Constructors:
- We will need to keep access into the Kinard Junior High site at
all times. We will also need to coordinate all of our
construction activities with the School District and FCI
Constructors so we do not interfere with their schedule.
♦ QWEST:
- There is a phone line buried on the west side of Ziegler that
will need to be temporarily relocated while we are under
construction. The contact from QWEST are: Bill Johnson
(377-6401)

IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
SITE COORDINATION WITH
OTHER CONTRACTORS:
♦COFC LIGHT AND POWER:
- There will be a new COFC duct bank installed on the West side
of Ziegler and the North side of the newly constructed Trilby
Road behind the curb and gutter. This work is already being
done by the COFC Light and Power Company, however, this
work will need to be coordinated with: Monica Moore (224-
6150)
*CONDUIT PLACEMENT:
- The Contractor must install conduit underneath the sidewalk
for future irrigation and future City of Fort Collins
telecommunication along the school property. 1.0
TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK

♦ TRAFFIC CONTROL:
- The traffic control for this project will be paid for by the Lumo
Sum to the Contractor and will include all costs for the traffic
control associated with this project.
- Message Boards will be paid for by the Lump Sum
• A total of 2 message boards for 3 days will be required to inform
the surrounding public of any road closures.
