RAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK
■ TRAFFIC CONTROL:
o Traffic Control Plans must be submitted and approved 72
hours prior to the start of construction and before making
each modification.
o Full road closures must be submitted 3 weeks prior to any
work being done.
o Local Residential Access:
■ Local access must be maintained at all times for all residents
on Douglas Road and County Road 11.
o City of Fort Collins will coordinate with the homeowners so
driveways can be closed for short oerlods of time
TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK
■ WORK AREA SAFETY:
o The Contractor shall provide, at the Contractor's
expense, all work area safety control devices, such as
barricades and safety fence around all excavations,
trenches and drop offs.

SUMMARY OF WORK:
■ NORTHEAST AREA OVERLAY
o The improvements for widening County Road 11 from just
north of the Storybook Subdivision north to Douglas Road
then west on Douglas Road 650 feet past the Hearthfire
Subdivision Entrance (approx. 3 miles in length) includes:
rotomilling the existing roadway 6 feet on each side,
overlaying the entire roadway with 3 inches of asphalt,
earthwork, waterline installation for the ELCO Water
District, stormwater improvements, house demolition,
driveway culverts, shouldering, landscaping, fencing and
re -grading.

■ SUPERINTENDENTS:
o The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time
Superintendent whose sole responsibility is to monitor
and coordinate all facets of the work.
■ LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
o SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION:
■ The Contractor will be given 55 working days to substantially
complete the project. Substantial Completion shall be
defined as the completion of all earthwork, pavement,
concrete work, striping, signage, landscaping and any other
pertinent items as required for this project. The roadways
must be opened to traffic. If the Contractor goes past the 55
working days, damages in the amount of $1,150.00 for each
working day will be assessed.

■ PROJECT MEETING:
o Once a week at the construction trailer located on -site, time to be
determined. The TCS will be required to attend all weekly
meetings.
■ PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS:
o Schedules shall be updated weekly. The Contractor may be
required to submit additional schedules depending on the
progress of the project.
■ HAUL ROUTES:
o Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be allowed
to use residential streets to access the site with trucks hauling
materials.

■ SITE CLEAN-UP:
o The Construction work and processes shall be kept
and accomplished in a neat, clean and orderly
fashion.
NORTHEAST AREA OVERLAY
ITE COORDINATION WITH
■ COMCAST CABLE:
o Will need to relocate overhead cable lines and cable boxes on the east
side of County Rd 11 and the north side of Douglas Road once the grade
has been brought to proposed elevations.
■ XCEL ENERGIES (ELECTRIC):
o Once the earthwork has been completed on the east side of County
Road 11 at Country Club Road, the overhead power crews will relocate
the existing power poles to the east outside of the new Right -of -Way.
This work will be completed after the earthwork is complete and prior to
the final lift of asphalt being placed.
■ ELCO WATER DISTRICT:
o Prior to August 4t', ELCO Water District will be on site upgrading several
water services along County Rd. 11. It may become necessary to
coordinate some of this work if they run past our start date.
TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK
■ TRAFFIC CONTROL:
o The traffic control for this project will be paid for by the
Lump Sum to the Contractor and will include all costs for .�
the traffic control associated with this project.
