Aopp ^ ov. Mountain Constructors, Inc. September 23, 2004 Bid Proposal Bid #5878 Pedestrian Bridge and Abutments Attachment The plan sheet for this project states that the window of construction is November 1, 2004 through April 1, 2005, as approved by Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District. On page 3 of the Bid Proposal it states that the construction could start as early as November 1, 2004 and must be completed by November 30, 2004. The completion date of November 30'" is impossible to meet for the following reasons: 1) The bridge manufacturers have a lead-time of a minimum of 2 — 3 weeks for shop drawings, depending on the manufacturer. The manufacturer that we have used states on their quote that it will take them 2 — 3 weeks for the shop drawings. Therefore the statement pertaining to the submittal requirement statement on page 4 under the Bidding Requirements cannot be met. 2) We are assuming that the City of Ft. Collins will need at least one week to review and approve the shop drawings. 3) Per the bridge manufacturers quotes once the shop drawings have been approved it will take 4 —14 weeks to manufacturer, depending on the manufacturer.. The manufacturer that we have used states on their quote that it will take them 4 — 6 weeks for the bridge to be manufactured. If you add up the above listed time frames for the bridge shop drawings, approval of shop drawings and manufacture of the bridge we are looking at 7 — 18 weeks lead-time, depending on the manufacturer, just for the pedestrian bridge portion of the project. Mountain Constructors, Inc. estimates it would take approximately 10 weeks for the previously listed process based on the supplier quotes that we used for our proposal. Admittedly other work can be completed during the manufacturing of the pedestrian bridge but there will be work that cannot be completed until the bridge is installed. Assuming that everything proceeds as planned, realistically the project could be completed before Christmas 2004. Our bid proposal is based on a completion date of Christmas 2004.
