Marking & Packing 7.1 Cable Marking The jacket shall be marked at intervals of one meter or two feet with following information. ,O Length marking O Name of Manufacturer ® Year of manufacture ® Cable type $ size 7.2 Cable Packing 7.2.1 The cables shall be supplied on drum in lengths as specified at the time of contract. The length of the standard reel shall be 2000m. 7.2.2 Each length of the cable shall be wound on a separate wooden reel. 7.2.3 The cable ends shall be accessible for testing. 7.2.4 Both ends of the cable shall be sealed with a heat shrinkable tubes to prevent the entry of moisture during shipping, Handling and storage. 7.2.5 The cable ends shall be securely fastened to the reel to prevent the cable from becoming loose in transit or curing placing operations. 7.2.6 Circumference battens or Wood -fiber board shall be secured with steel band to protect the cable during normal handling and storage. SCOPE 1.1 APPLICATION This specification covers the requirements for the single mode optical fiber cable intended for duct. 1.2CALBE DISCRIPTION 1)The cable structure is completed by the application of a swellable tape wrapping, peripheral strength member which with the core, are covered by an overall PE jacket. 2)Cable core description The cable core consist of single mode color coded fibers, thixotropic jelly filled, color coded loose tubes, PE filler (if necessary), SZ stranded around the dielectric central strength member with water blocking yarn. 2. OPTICAL FIBER IN THE CABLE 2.1 The operating wavelength region of Single mode around 1310nm & 1550nm. 2.2Material of the fibers The fiber shall be made from high grade silica glasses and the primary coating shall be made from UV curable acrylate of equivalent material. A protective UV cured acrylate coating shall be applied over the fiber cladding and it shall be able to removed mechanically or chemically. CABLE CONSTRUCTION The construction of the cable shall be in accordance with Table 2. Fiber and Loose Buffer Tube Identification The color code of the loose buffer tubes and the individual fibers within each loose buffer tube shall be in accordance with Table 4-a, 4-b. Physical / Mechanical / Environmental Performance & Tests The physical, mechanical and environmental performance of the cable shall be in accordance with Table 5. Unless otherwise specified, all attenuation measurements required in this section shall be performed at 1550 ±20nm. The completed cable shall be capable of meeting the following requirements. The repeatability of the measurement system shall be within ±0.05 dB.
