HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESPONSE - BID - 5869 FIRE ALARM AT CITY HALL WEST (4)BID PROPOSAL BID #5869 FIRE ALARM AT CITY HALL WEST BID OPENING: JULY 22, 2004, 3:OOo.m.. four clock) WE HEREBY ENTER OUR BID FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE ALARM AT CITY HALL WEST PER THE BID INVITATION AND ANY REFERENCED SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS: The City Of Fort Collins is requesting bids for a fire alarm system for City Hall West located at 300 Laporte Ave, Ft Collins, CO per the attached specifications and drawings titled: FTC CITY HALL FIRE ALARM. Contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment and permits for a complete job. Work must be completed 45 days after notice to proceed or as directed by the City Project Manager. Awarded contractor must sign the attached Service Agreement and provide insurance per Exhibit "B". Any technical questions should be directed to Steve Seefeld, Project Manager, at 970-221 - 6227. A pre -bid will be held at the site on July 12, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. and is highly recommended that all contractors attend. This quotation includes engineering, submittals, permits, supply of fire alarm materials, labor, programming, testing, inspection, and training required for the complete installation of the life safety system in accordance with the bid document provided and requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Defined Scope of Work: ✓ Furnish afire alarm system as specified herein. This system shall include, and be limited to; control equipment, analog and/or addressable sensors and other accessories (batteries, telephone jacks) necessary to provide afire alarm system as listed ✓ This system shall include a Fire Control Instruments 7100 Series addressable fire alarm control panel to replace existing ✓ This system shall include installation of one smoke detector above fire alarm panel as required by applicable code ✓ This system shall include installation of five monitor modules to monitor existing zones ✓ This system shall include six monitor modules to monitor three existing sub panels ✓ This system shall include a LCD remote annunciator to replace existing ✓ This system shall include three smoke detectors to be installed in the electrical room ✓ This system shall include two smoke detectors to serve door control ✓ This system shall include four monitor modules to monitor existing sprinkler system ✓ This system shall include one control relay to serve door control ✓ This system shall include four added door holders and integration of two existing ✓ Termination of wiring at panel ✓ Removal and disposal of existing fire alarm control equipment ✓ Programming, testing and inspection ✓ Two graphic maps depicting all initiating devices and their corresponding addresses will be provided prior to final inspection Life Safety Technologies, LLC qualifies the following: 1) Life Safety shall proceed with engineering/submittals and material orders immediately. 2) All equipment shall be listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. or accepted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. 3) Wire and cable shall be U.L. Listed for fire alarm use and shall be a minimum of 18 AWG or as required by local codes and Authority Having Jurisdiction. 4) Raceways containing fire alarm conductors shall not contain any other conductors. No AC current carrying conductors shall be allowed in the same raceway with the fire alarm conductors. 5) The fire alarm system in its entirety shall be in compliance with all applicable fire and electrical codes and comply with the requirements of the local Authority Having Jurisdiction over said systems. 6) The fire alarm control panel shall provide an integral Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter (DACT) for signaling to a Central Station. 7) The fire alarm system shall transmit both alarm and trouble signals with the alarm having priority over the trouble signal. 8) Batteries shall be of sufficient capacity to provide power for the entire system upon loss of normal AC power for a period of sixty hours with five minutes of alarm signaling at the end of this sixty -hour period as required by NFPA 72. 9) Connections to the light and power service shall be on a dedicated branch circuit in accordance with the National Electrical Code. The circuit and connections shall be mechanically protected. The circuit disconnecting means shall be accessible only to authorized personnel. 10) Any and all further requirements of the owner and/or Authority Having Jurisdiction are not to be considered within the scope of this document and shall be addressed by change order and approved by an authorized individual before additional materials and/or labor will be provided. 11) Proper operation and all functions of existing duct detection devices and their controls are not to be considered within the scope of this document. Exclusions: a) AC Power (Existing) b) Phone lines (Two are required) c) Duct detection (Existing shall be bypassed and not integrated into new system) This proposal/quotation shall remain in effect for the next (30) days.
