TIMBERLINE ROADWAY WIDENING PROJECT
Project Update
May 1, 2004 - July 21, 2004
Project Description: The scope of services assigned to Interwest for the Timberline
Roadway Widening Project consists of the design of Conceptual (ultimate) and 50
percent (ultimate and interim) roadway plans along Timberline Road generally between
Drake Road and Prospect Road. The scope includes several specialty consultants which
are considered sub -consultants to Interwest and not directly under contract with the city.
Billing: The project was established as a fixed fee contract pursuant to the Professional
Services Agreement with the city. Therefore, all invoices will be shown as a percent
complete versus the contract amount of $177,049 plus reimbursable direct costs.
Project Status: The following summarizes the team progress from May 1, 2004 to July
16, 2004:
• Prepared project funding exhibits for use in public forums by city staff
• Prepared a detailed topographic design survey of the corridor
• Located approximately 250 field utility potholes along the corridor
• Prepared a traffic assessment for the corridor including various Level of Service
and major intersection analyzes
• Prepared various conceptual horizontal and vertical alignment studies of the
Timberline Road ultimate 6-lane arterial. Plans included the conceptual design
of Prospect Road along the east and west transitions.
• Began preliminary drainage design analysis
• Began interim horizontal roadway plans of the corridor to satisfy the Adequate
Public Facilities requirements of the participating developers
• Began railroad crossing exhibits for use by the city in securing permits from the
railroad
• Began right-of-way mapping based upon title work provided by the city
• Attended various staff and utility coordination meetings
Schedule: The project commenced on May 3, 2004 with a team kick off meeting at the
city's Street Oversizing office. Based upon this meeting, a modified scope of services,
fee and project schedule was subsequently presented for staff review and included as
Exhibit B in the Professional Services Agreement between the City and Interwest. All of
the tasks listed above are within the schedule or have been extended due to agreed upon
design considerations. e.g. The Conceptual Design was submitted to the city staff on
June 30`h as outlined; however, additional modifications to the layout have been made
since that date.
The next official submittal to the city is scheduled for September 3, 2004 which will
include the 50 percent level design drawings for the ultimate and interim roadway
alignments, including the associated reports, cost estimates and exhibits.
