GENERAL CLARIFICATION 1. Seeding of topsoil stockpile is not required if stockpile is not left for more than 30 days during construction of park, per the notes found on sheet EC-1 of the construction drawings. 2. Digital data for grading of park provided upon request (Park Planning & Dept.). 3. The granite boulders and cobble to be supplied by Parks Department. See Bid Items 51,53, and 60. 4. Contractor to comply with State of Colorado dewatering wastewater requirements (see general notes 14 and 15 on cover sheet). SPECIFICATIONS SECTION 00800 SUPPLEMENTARY CONDTIONS SC-12.3. Omit paragraph: "Contractor will include in the project schedule 10 days lost due to abnormal weather conditions". Refer to DIVISION 1, SECTION 01310 — CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULES, 1.04 B, for adverse weather conditions. TABLE OF CONTENTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS DIVISION 3 CONCRETE Section 03300 Omit phrase: "(we supply)". DIVISION 1, SECTION 01800. DEFINITION OF BID ITEMS - Replace Bid Item 52 with following: Bid Item 52 =River Rock Boulders Contractor shall provide all material, labor, and equipment to purchase, haul and install gray river boulders in the landscape as shown on the drawings. All changes in pipe direction at gasket bell joints including elbows, tees, reducers, valves and fittings must be suitably thrust blocked with concrete to prevent any movement of the joint, 2. Thrust blocks shall be constructed by pouring concrete in place. The concrete shall have a minimum compression strength of 4,000 psi. Use of pre-cut concrete blocks Is prohibited. 3. Concrete thrust blocks shall require proper contact and molding of the concrete on the body of the Gating. Sufficient Contact with the fitting is required to eliminate stress points on the fitting. A moldlq form or other method shall be used to protect the bell joints of the fitting from concrete envelopment. The pipe must be free to flax and move within the gasket joint of the fitting. 4. The Irrigation Contractor shall use a measurable molding form w properly size the thrust block In respect to fitting configuration, local soil baring strength, and for the maximum test pressure. The molding form shall be ThrustFORM as manufactured by ThrustFORM Company or approved equal. S. The Contractor shall use a penetrometer or other means to measure the soil bearing capacity of the trench wall to Insure the proper sizing of the thrust block surface area. 6. Thrust blocks shall be formed against a solid undisturbed trench wall. Hand excavate as necessary to Insure the sufficient :(zing of the surface area on the undisturbed trench wall.
