HomeMy WebLinkAboutRFP - P904 ART IN PUBLIC PLACES DESIGN CONSULTANT RESOURCITY OF FORT COLLINS ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROGRAM DESIGN CONSULTANT RESOURCE LIST 2003 P-904 DEADLINE: SEPT EMB ER 30, 2003 PROJECT The City of Fort Collins is seeking visual artists to serve as design consultants for city construction projects. The Art in Public Places Program is creating a list of approved artists who can work as Design Consultants for city projects that may or may not have an independent art budget. Design consultants selected from the resource list will work with project architects, engineers and managers to designate artful opportunities within the project or develop a concept with the team, for a term of two years. This approach requires collaboration, creativity, and flexibility as well as an open mind. The department, design team and APP board will determine the extent of the design consultant's involvement on a project. The design consultant will be paid a fee of $50 an hour for the design phase or commissioned to create a piece of artwork for the site. ELIGIBILITY This project is open to Colorado artists. The artist must be willing to work with the selected design team. APPLICATION MATERIALS TO BE SUBMITTED Artists interested in being considered for the Design Consultant Resource List are requested to submit the following materials: • one -page resume (please include design team projects) • letter of intent (please include any past experiences in collaborative projects) • the attached application • six slides representing work • self-addressed stamped envelope Submissions must be postmarked or hand -delivered by September 30, 2003. Please deliver your submission to: City of Fort Collins Purchasing Division, 215 N. Mason, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or mail to City of Fort Collins Purchasing Division, P.O. Box 580, Fort Collins, CO 80522. SELECTION CRITERIA The Art in Public Places Board and a representative of the City Purchasing Department will review applications. Submissions will be judged on artistic excellence/technical competence and letter of intent/previous experience. A grading system of 1 to 10 will be used for each category. Artists receiving a 16 and above will be added to the Design Consultant Resource List.
