I regret to inform you that our travel agency will not be responding to your Request for Proposal. It is not reasonable for our company to enter into a business relationship that is not profitable. With your mandate that the City will not pay service fees for service rendered -I do not find the expected revenues (split up to 2 ways) to be adequate income to handle the details of the award. Although there is a certain prestige associated with handling City travel - without the ability to charge service fees —it's not worth it! Our company will not lose money just for the privilege. We work very hard to maintain our existing satisfied customer base accustomed to paying for our services. I suggest that in the present environment of the airline industry with capped commissions it is very hard for a small Travel Company to stay profitable. By charging service fees we will be able to continue to work within the airline industry and still be around for the future. Further I would like to recommend that the City of Fort Collins use its considerable regional clout to improve the status of air transportation in our state. The dominance by one airline at DIA is not working for the consumer. Complaints and poor service issues continue to increase. It's time that government takes a stand to improve conditions for all those who
