Y. i. Marty wanted me to pass this on to you folks so you are aware of the problems that we are having with A&M Landscaping. We have had them on several jobs, both as installation contractors and maintenance contractors. A&M Landscaping is not doing a good job for us and if they get bids in the future, I would recommend monitoring them very closely and document every detail of work they perform. I can go one step further and recommend they not be given any contracts where they are to maintain a project after construction ends. Problems that I have encountered with A&M Landscaping: 'Gateway Park - not following through with commitments on time - hard to get them to the site to complete work. *Medians and Parkways - - Timberline and Mulberry (Maintenance) - very slow and non compliant to maintaining weeds and litter during 2 year warranty period - difficult to get them to meet and perform walk thru for city acceptance. We are unsure of the status of the irrigation system, after the 2 year warranty period, since we haven't performed the acceptance inspection. - Taft Hill Road ( Construction) - some problems with getting irrigation installed - 2 year maintenance period just beginning. - Timberline and Drake & Timberline and Harmony (Construction & Maintenance) - installation was ok with a few problems but maintenance has been poor. Fails to monitor weeds and grass growth in mulch areas and several trees and shrubs have died and not been replaced. Eileen Bayens (Eng.) having problem getting them to respond and is contacting the general contractor to get them to hold A&M to their contract. Entrance into the city looks very tacky. I'm not sure what their problem is but it appears to me they are over committed, poorly managed and may be bidding jobs to cheap to take care of properly. Just wanted to let you know since your are using them on Fossil Creek Park and Homestead Park. Virgil >>> Virgil Taylor 04/16/03 08:09AM >>> Just wanted to let you know that I talked to Eileen Bayens in Eng. re. the medians listed above. She is having trouble with A&M Landscape in responding to her calls. She is working back thru the general contractor against their bond to get them to follow-up on their responsibilities. Hopefully she can get the weeds and dead plants taken care of. Thanks, Virgil CC: John Stephen; Ralph Zentz
