The following description of the tank, pump system and control units will follow your specifications sheet, detailing how our tank will comply with each of your requirements. Price as a replacement for specified nozzles, including any additional wiring and controls. 6.0 SPECIFICATIONS: Street Flushing Unit 6.1 Equipment bid on this proposal must meet or exceed the following minimum requirements. Any exceptions must be noted and listed on a separate sheet. General: The following specifications describe a 4,000 gallon, low profile steel tank mounted on a cab/chassis and equipped for street flushing. All specifications shall be considered as minimum, and all bids equivalent or exceeding these specifications will be considered. The City may require on -site demonstrations and evaluations of proposed equivalent equipment before making a final award. Complete and up-to-date tank and flushing system specifications must accompany bid. Tank will be mounted on a new Freightliner Condor cab/chassis with a 144" CA dimension and measuring 109" after center of an am ax as. ruc w uppe with an A ison 0 ss on and setup for an engine- driven PTO. Successful bidder will be responsible for delivering the completed unit to the City of Fort Collins. Installation of tank and flung system are the responsibility of the successful bidder. Mason St., 2nd Floor PO Box 580 Ft. Collins, CO 80522-0580 Dear Mr. Hume; This letter describes how Denver Truck Sales' tank will be constructed to address each specification listed in your proposal. Each specification will be addressed in order, by number. Options will be addressed as well, at the end of the specification analysis. 6.2 The tank will be a 4,000 gallon low profile elliptical tank, constructed of Yd' 570 steel, 60" tall and 84" wide, 18 feet long. Baffles will consist of two cross baffles and one longitudinal baffle for a total of three. Cross baffles will be '/4" steel, cross -braced and gusseted. Baffles will have 20" offset holes with cutouts in the bottom. The manway will be 20" to 22", rectangular, with a hinged lid and a quick release holddown. 6.3 A 3" interior discharge pipe will be fitted from front to rear. All pipes will be schedule 40. A sump with an anti -vortex baffle will be located in the bottom of the tank, with a 5" fitting and stainless steel pipe from the sump to the flusher system pump. At the city's discretion, the 5" pipe may be schedule 40, epoxy coated. A 2" pipe fitting with plug will be provided for later use with a deicer system. The sump will be located with at least 12" of clear space laterally and vertically from frame rails and crossmembers, driveline, suspension and other components. Denver Truck Sales is not responsible for precise location pending inspection of the City's truck and its construction. We will adapt the tank to meet this specification or come as close as possible. The sight gauge will be tube type, mounted front and rear on the bulkheads. An MCO or equivalent level gauge overflow pipe of 3" diameter will extend up into the manhole. A hydrant fill 3" pipe will be mounted, with a 5" to 6" anti -siphon airgap. A removable strainer will be mounted at the inlet end.
