The following modifications are made to the Scope of Services to allow CH2M Hill to
provide the City of Fort Collins with professional services related to the Fort Collins Water
Treatment Facility Improvements.
1. This Modification is issued to include revisions, additions, and deletions to the
original Scope of Services contained in the Agreement. The following adjustments
are made to the contract:
A) Extend the service completion by no later than December 31, 2000.
B) Revise, add, and delete to the original Scope of Services contained in the Agreement
as stipulated in Exhibit A, Modifications to Scope of Services.
C) There is no change in budget or fee. The contract value remains at $2,815,350.00.
Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of the Scope of Services remain
unchanged and in full force and effect.

EXHIBIT A
Modifications to Scope of Services
This document presents a summary of the modifications to the AGREEMENT between the
CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, a Municipal Corporation, hereinafter referred to as
the CITY and CH2M HILL, INC., hereinafter referred to as the PROFESSIONAL, for the
project generally described as:
1998-1999 Fort Collins Water Treatment Facility Improvements
Following are described the modifications to the original scope of services contained in the
AGREEMENT:
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
Item 3: Revise to extend service completion by no later than December 31, 2000.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
TASK I —BACKWASH SUPPLY
A. Task I.1—Services During Construction
i) Delete Item 7.
TASK II—T5&T6/NEW FILTERS
A. Task II.1—Basis of Design
i) Delete Filters 24 to 26 in their entirety.
h) Delete Clearwell in ifs entirety.
iii) Delete temporary alum and polymer storage and feed systems for T5/T6 in their
entirety.
B. Task II.2—Final Design
i) Delete new filters, clearwell, and interconnecting piping in their entirety from
final design.
ii) Delete interim alum and polymer feed systems for T5/T6 in their entirety.
iii) Add raw water flow blending facilities.
iv) Add chemical storage and feed facility, including an electrical room, mechanical
room, and the following storage and feed systems: primary coagulant, lime,
carbon dioxide, coagulant aid polymer, and filter aid polymer.
v) Add modifications to Filters 1 to 8.

TASK IV —FILTER REHABILITATION
A. Task IV.1—Final Design
i) Items 6, 7, and 9 are included in Task 11.2.
ii) Add Item 10: "Replacement of backwash troughs in Filters 1 to 8."
B. Task IV.2—Services During Pricing
i) No change.
C. Task IV.3—Services During Construction
i) No change to items 1 through 6 for Filters 9 to 23. For Filters 1 to 8, items 1
through 6 limited only to media replacement and backwash trough replacement.
Modifications to Filters 1 to 8 and the filter access road are included in Task IIA.
ii) Item 7 was reduced in duration from 9 months to 6 months for media and trough
replacement in Filters 1 to 8 and all modifications to Filters 9 to 23.
iii) Item 8 was reduced in duration from 9 months to 6 months for media and trough
replacement in Filters 1 to 8 and all modifications to Filters 9 to 23.
TASK V—CHEMICAL STORAGE AND FEED FACILITY
A. Task V.1—Basis of Design
i) Item 15, delete lime (finished water), alum (control room modifications)
hydrofluorosilicic acid, and alternative chemical storage and feed systems in
their entirety.
ii) Add carbon dioxide storage and feed system to Item 15.
B. Task V.2—Services During Pricing
i) Services during pricing for the chemical storage and feed facility are included in
Task 11.3.
C. Task V.3—Services During Pricing
i) Services during pricing for the chemical storage and feed facility are included in
Task IIA.
TASK VI —CONTROL ROOM MODIFICATIONS
A. Task VI.1—Design
i) No change.
B. Task VI.2—Services During Pricing
i) No change.
C. Task VI.3—Services During Construction
i) No change.

TASK VII—PROJECT MANAGEMENT & GENERAL MASTER PLAN SERVICES
A. Task VII.1—General Master Planning Support
i) Add the following: "Project manager will have 1 day per week commitment for
coordination, oversight, meetings, and periodic site visits from June 1999 to
December 2000."
B. Task VII.2—Project Instructions
i) No change.
C. Task VII.3—Cost and Schedule Control
i) No change.
D. Task VIIA—City Contractor Coordination
i) No change.
E. Task VII.S—Weekly Meetings
i) Change the number of PROFESSIONAL attendees from two to three.
TASK VIII—WATER QUALITY LABORATORY HVAC MODIFICATIONS
A. Insert the following tasks:
i) "3. PROFESSIONAL will review submittals, including shop drawings, and other
data submitted by the contractor for review."
ii) "4. PROFESSIONAL will provide design clarifications and respond to City or
contractor requests for information. PROFESSIONAL will interpret plans and
specifications for the contractor in response to their requests to deviate from
designs or specifications. PROFESSIONAL will review change orders requested
by the contractor or the City."
iii) "5. At the completion of construction work, PROFESSIONAL will review record
drawing information supplied by contractors and will prepare for the City one
(1) set of reproducible record drawings."
TASK IX —RESERVOIR COMMUNICATIONS
No change.
