Brad's most recent notable projects have involved the implementation of a combination of new bio-technical erosion control treatments and field proven techniques to stabilize a 0.7 mile reach of streambank in the 123- acre park adjacent to the Stapleton International Airport. The goals of the project have been to enhance water quality and to improve the severely degraded stream, riparian and wetland habitat. Another recent notable project is the ongoing habitat restoration of Skyland Meadows Development; a high -end residential development developed around a natural park with several large ponds and waterfalls. He has designed and managed construction for many miles of instream, streambank, and riparian area habitat restoration projects throughout the Western U.S., including both coldwater and warm water aquatic systems. Using the European tested methods of biotechnical slope protection, Dr. Windell has modified and adapted these techniques for use in stabilizing streambank environments along the mountainous and plains streams of the and west. He has also worked extensively with the reclamation of urban streams to improve their stability, water quality benefits, aesthetics, aquatic wildlife values, and recreational opportunities. Feature projects include: the Boulder Creek Watershed Project - involving three miles of stream restoration in the urban environment and five miles of non -point source pollution control improvements in the agricultural environment; the Clear Creek Watershed Project - three mid- elevation mine site reclamation projects combined with two miles of urban fishery habitat restoration; and the Goose Creek Watershed Project - master planning stream restoration for seven miles of channel below a tailwater dam release with construction completed for four miles of improvements. Eleven Years Paul is responsible for the annual production of several million unit Experience inventory of over 70 species of native plant materials. He manages the entire nursery labor force, shipping and receiving of orders, contract grow arrangements, and all outside nursery operations. As production manager, Paul maintains on -going research and investigation into seed dormancy codes and other genetic and biological means of increasing germination and production rates. New species continue to be added to the nursery's available inventory. In addition to the plant materials, Paul is also responsible for the maintenance of the propagation facilities (12,500 ftz of greenhouse/hoop houses and nearly 140 outdoor beds) which includes the construction of new facilities and design and installation of irrigation systems. Paul has refined and updated many of the techniques used by the nursery to propagate and maintain inventory and as a result has increased the facility's production capabilities and the viability of the plant materials. Other skills and experience that Paul brings to the nursery operation include: development of fertilization programs, budget management for multiple facilities, large scale greenhouse construction, trainer for soil preparation, planting procedures, water systems, pesticide application and fertilization regimes, data collection and statistical analysis of crop production, agricultural machinery operation and maintenance.
