5. All the various phases of Work enumerated in the Contract Documents with
their individual jobs and overhead, whether specifically mentioned,
included by implication or appurtenant thereto, are to be performed by the
CONTRACTOR under one of the items listed in the Bid Schedule, irrespective
of whether it is named in said list.
6. Payment for Work performed will be in accordance with the Bid Schedule or
Bid Schedules subject to changes as provided in the Contract Documents.

from the abutments and hung from the bridge deck.
Casing spacers shall be installed and shall be non-metallic and molded in segments for field
assembly without any special tools. The casing spacer polymer shall have a minimum compressive
strength of 3,000 psi and shall have full length, integrally molded skids extending beyond the bell of
the carrier pipe. Spacers shall be spaced a maximum of eight (8) feet apart along the length of the
carrier pipe with one casing spacerwithin two (2) feet of each side of a pipe joint and the rest evenly
spaced.
End seals shall be installed after the insertion of the carrier pipe into the casing. The end seals shall
be 1 /8" thick synthetic rubber end seals_
METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
Subsection 603.11 shall include the following:
Casing spacers, end seals, hangers, steel casing pipe and modifications to the north drop manhole
including fitting replacements, concrete cutting and patching, etc. will not be measured separately
and will be subsidiary to Item 603, 8-inch PVC SDR 35 Pipe w/ 20-inch Steel Casing Pipe.

REVISION OF SECTION 604
MANHOLES, INLETS AND METER VAULTS
Section 604 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this project to include the
following:
MATERIALS
The following shall be added to Section 604.02
The new manhole shall meet the City of Fort Collins Water Utilities Standards and shall be a flat
top shallow manhole. The maximum distance from finished grade to the top of flat slab top shall
be 16 inches and the maximum distance from finished grade to the first step shall be 28 inches.
METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
The following shall be added to Section 604.06:
All modifications necessary to the manhole and drop structure north of the bridge to install a new
sanitary sewer line, including fittings, will not be paid for separately and will be subsidiary to Item
603, 8-inch PVC SDR 35 Pipe w/ 20-inch Steel Casing Pipe,

SC-7.4 Coordination
A. Add the following language to Paragraph 7.4 of the General Conditions:

ADDENDUM NO. 1
REVISION OF SECTION 603
CULVERTS AND SEWERS
Section 603 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this project as follows:
MATERIALS
Section 603.02 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this Project to read as follows
Pipe is manufactured from PVC compound meeting the requirements of cell class 12454-B as
defined by ASTM D-1784, Standard Specifications for Rigid Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Compounds.
Sanitary sewer pipe and fittings shall conform to ASTM D 3034 with integral bell gasketed joints.
Rubber gaskets shall be factory installed and conform to ASTM F 477. Pipe joints shall conform to
ASTM D 3212. Pipe shall have a wall thickness corresponding to dimension ratio SDR-35 with a
minimum pipe stiffness of 46 PSI.
The steel casing pipe shall be spiral welded or smooth -wall seamless, consisting of grade "B" steel
with a minimum yield strength of 35,000 psi and manufactured in accordance with ASTM A139 and
A283. The pipe wall thickness shall be a minimum of 0.250 inches with beveled ends and prepared
for field welding at the circumferential joints. The outside of the casing pipe shall have one coat of
zinc chromate primer conforming to Federal Specification TT-86a and afterwards painted with a
compatible black paint. The casing pipe shall extend one foot beyond the outside abutment walls
and shall be supported within the bridge span with two corresponding steel hangers spaced equally
from the abutments and hung from the bridge deck.
Casing spacers shall be installed and shall be non-metallic and molded in segments for field
assembly without any special tools. The casing spacer polymer shall have a minimum compressive
strength of 3,000 psi and shall have full length, integrally molded skids extending beyond the bell of
the carrier pipe. Spacers shall be spaced a maximum of eight (8) feet apart along the length of the
carrier pipe with one casing spacer within two (2) feet of each side of a pipe joint and the rest evenly
spaced.
End seals shall be installed after the insertion of the carrier pipe into the casing. The end seals shall
be 1/8" thick synthetic rubber end seals.
METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
Subsection 603.11 shall include the following:
Casing spacers, end seals, hangers, steel casing pipe and modifications to the north drop manhole
including fitting replacements, concrete cutting and patching, etc. will not be measured separately
and will be subsidiary to Item 603, 8-inch PVC SDR 35 Pipe w/ 20-inch Steel Casing Pipe.

Please Note:
The City of Fort Collins is reviewing its budget due to the national and local economic downturn and
City revenue shortfalls. This project is subject to the availability of funding and may be awarded,
delayed or not awarded.
To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above, the
following changes are hereby made.
Bid Sheet has been revised.
Supplementary Conditions
SC-1.32.b Regular Working Hours
A. Add the following language to Paragraph 1.32.b of the General Conditions:
Regular Working Hours are defined as 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p-m_, Monday through Friday.
SC-2-6-1 Milestone Schedule
A. Add the following language to Paragraph 2.6.1 of the General Conditions:
The Contractor shall submitto the Engineer a detailed schedule showing the set milestones
and how the Contractor expects the Work to proceed. This schedule shall be submitted
before the Work commences and shall show all milestones as outlined in Section 2.6 of the
General Requirements.
SC-4.1 Availability of lands
A. Add the following language to Paragraph 4.1 of the General Conditions:
The project is bordered on the west by private property and on the east by the Grandview
Cemetery. The Contractor shall not park or operate equipment and vehicles, stockpile
materials, or enter into either area without written permission from the appropriate land
owner. Construction access will be defined by survey marking and will not be allowed on

SC-7.4 Coordination
A. Add the following language to Paragraph 7.4 of the General Conditions:
The following Work will be performed by the City of Fort Collins or others:
• Construction surveying
• Asphalt pavement material and installation
• Pavement striping
• Removal and reset of signs
• Water line lowering
• Traffic loop installation
The Contractor will allow one week in his schedule for the installation of asphalt pavement
by others at the completion of each bridge stage.
The Contractor will allow one week in his schedule for water line lowering at the completion
of the demolition of the east side of the existing bridge structure.

REVISION OF SECTION 603
CULVERTS AND SEWERS
Section 603 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this project as follows:
MATERIALS
Section 603.02 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this Project to read as follows
Pipe is manufactured from PVC compound meeting the requirements of cell class 12454-B as
defined byASTM D-1784, Standard Specifications for Rigid Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Compounds.
Sanitary sewer pipe and fittings shall conform to ASTM D 3034 with integral bell gasketed joints.
Rubber gaskets shall be factory installed and conform to ASTM F 477, Pipe joints shall conform to
ASTM D 3212. Pipe shall have a wall thickness corresponding to dimension ratio SDR-35 with a
minimum pipe stiffness of 46 PSI.
The steel casing pipe shall be spiral welded or smooth -wall seamless, consisting of grade "B" steel
with a minimum yield strength of 35,000 psi and manufactured In accordance with ASTM A139 and
A283. The pipe wall thickness shall be a minimum of 0250 inches with beveled ends and prepared
for field welding at the circumferential joints. The outside of the casing pipe shall have one coat of
zinc chromate primer conforming to Federal Specification TT-86a and afterwards painted with a
compatible black paint The casing pipe shall extend one foot beyond the outside abutment walls
and shall be supported within the bridge span with two corresponding steel hangers spaced equally
