THIS CONTRACT, is made this 1� day of /UOVfmb_&r-1999 by and between the
State of Colorado for the use and benefit of the Department of Transportation hereinafter referred to as
"the State" or "CDOT" and VENTER COMPANIES, INC., a Colorado Corporation, 20300 West
Highway 72, Arvada, CO 80007, hereinafter referred to as the "Vendor" or the "Contractor".
FACTUAL RECITALS
Authority exists in the law and funds have been budgeted, appropriated and otherwise made
available and a sufficient unencumbered balance thereof remains available for payment in Fund *, Orgn.
No. *, Appropriation Code *, Program *, Function *, Object * (*), Reporting Category *, (Total
Contract Amount shall not exceed $100,000.00), (* to be determined in each task order); and
Required approval, clearance, and coordination has been accomplished from and with
appropriate agencies; and
The State requires Rock Scaling and Blasting on an as needed basis at various locations based
upon the needs of the State and as more specifically described in Exhibit A (Scope of Work), hereinafter
described as "the Work"; and
By its Invitation for Bid No. HAA 20-007-VF, dated August 2, 1999, the State sought submittals
from persons qualified to perform the work from which to select the low responsible bidder pursuant to
the terms of §24-103-202, C.R.S., as amended; and
The selection of the vendor by the State was based upon meeting the specifications of the bid and
being the only vendor to respond to the State's bid; and
The State and the Vendor desire to enter into this contract; and
It has been determined that no State agency can reasonably provide "in-house" services required
of the Vendor; and
The State deems it to be in the public interest to engage the Vendor to perform the
aforementioned services.
