The beams should be removed and replaced on the same day if possible. Work must be completed by May 10, 2002 or as approved by the Project Manager. Contractor must name the City of Fort Collins as an additional insured per Exhibit "B". Contractor is responsible for all permits and any associated fees. A pre -bid meeting will be held Monday, April 22, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the site. If questions on these specifications, please call Eileen Scholl, Project Manager at 970- 416-2062. The contractor shall remove two (2) 40 foot 5 1/8" wide X 19 1/2" deep glulam beams. Contractor must provide temporary support for the ends of the purlins at the east and west sides of the roof and the ends of the trusses as well as the ends of the north and south glulam beams prior to removing the east and west glulams. The beams will be purchased by the City of Ft. Collins and contractor must transport beams from Mawson Lumber to the site. The beams must be installed so the tension zone laminations are facing up and the camber is also facing up so the ends of the members will be slightly higher than the middle. The existing hangers, angle seats and through bolts may be re- used for the new beams after review by the project manager. If any hardware is not usable, City will reimburse contractor for purchase of new.
