HomeMy WebLinkAboutCORRESPONDENCE - RFP - P815 DOWNTOWN STRATEGIC PLAN (19)From: Jim Hume To: Jim O'Neill Date: 3/29/02 9:41AM Subject: Downtown Strategic Plan Jim, John Daggett, Randy Henseley and some other folks on the group working on the negotiations for the Downtown Strategic plan called me and asked for guidance on a couple of items. 1. They did not like the Prime contractor's choice of sub in one area and asked if they could communicate that to the Prime. I told them they could do that they should make clear to the Prime that the issue of the sub must be resolved before the agreement could move forward. 2. When they did that, the Prime offered them a choice of two other subs for that part of the work. The group called and asked if it was okay for them to express a preference. I said that it would be okay, but that if there were later problems with that sub, things could get sticky. They have confidence in the sub based on previous experience, so that doesn't bother them. I hope my answers were all right. In the first instance, I felt that we needed to communicate our dissatisfaction with the Prime's choice in a firm manner. In the second instance, it seemed better to get off the fence and take responsibility for the choice since we had objected to the original sub. Jim
