Addendum to the City of Fort Collins Drop Off Recycling Center Contract
As a result of the Planning and Zoning iequneinents Enid all of the difficulties, changes,
and increased expenses to the city drop off site, we have made a few changes to our
initial proposal
In order to meet the requirements the City of Fort Collins has placed on this project, the
costs of our initial plan is expected to exceed $ 100,000
We are moving foiward with Wayne Specht on a plan to place a metal building on the
site to house the baler, allowing us to diop and sort material, and run the operation
efficiently This will alleviate a number of the issues the Planning & Zoning Department
had with material outside and on the ground
The other change we would like to make is to keep the Riverside location open to the
public Since we will not need the equipment at the Magnolia location we could leave it
opeiational at it's present location This would accommodate community members who
want a simple, established drop off iecychng option When the Magnolia location is
operational, it will provide a moi e custom diop off facility offering a manned site, help
with recyclables, 1 — 7 plastic, computers, metals, batteries, paper shredding and an
assortment of othet specialty recycling options
We propose to take ovei the lease at the Riverside location as soon as possible to ease the
city's financial buiden and allow us to start our contract
This would allow the City of Fort Collins to have two diop off centers to offer to the
community while allowing us to do everything previously proposed at the Magnolia site
We feel this is the best option for us to move forwaid with the city.
We will be working on plans with Wayne Specht to submit to the Planning & Zoning
department in a timely manner Although the building itself will take only a few months
to construct. we do expect the pi ocess to take a considerable amount if time We can put
a timetable together and meet with the Natuial Resouices Department to keep you posted
on the progress
