The C.P.N. Golf Course Superintendent and his staff
are responsible for all outside or exterior course
maintenance. The Golf Pro and his staff are responsible
for all clubhouse and proshop functions. These functions
include tee time scheduling, tournament or special event
scheduling, proshop merchandising, driving range
operation,, etc. Course maintenance activities are
coordinated with the proshop to avoid tournament
conflicts., The Driving Range is maintained by the grounds
staff on a set schedule to avoid range ball damage by
mowers. All golf carts are cleaned and fueled by the
proshop staff. Any necessary repairs are reported by the
proshop staff to the grounds staff which then does the
repair work. The Course Superintendent and the Golf Pro
work together to provide the best possible golf experience
for the public.
SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS
C.P.N. Golf Course has an ongoing project in
cooperation with Grandview Cemetery for the production of
topsoil. The cemetery provides excess soil from grave
digging. The golf course provides sand and composted leaf
and organic matter mulch. The three components are
combined, mixed and run through a shredder, producing a
topsoil mixture. This mixture is used for course
construction projects and topdressing materials. The
cemetery uses the topsoil to level graves. Approximately
1000 cubic yards of topsoil are produced yearly.
C.P.N. and the Parks Maintenance Dept. integrate the
use of large equipment such as dump trucks, large
tractors, aerifiers, and topdressers. this is done on an
as needed basis throughout the year.
CLUBHOUSE AND PARKING LOT
C.P.N. maintenance staff handles all exterior
clubhouse maintenance except major structural repair or
renovation. The Clubhouse grounds are mowed on a weekly
basis. Planters and flower beds and pots are planted every
season with a variety of annual and perenial flowers and
plants. Leaves, limbs and trash are removed on an as
needed basis. The Clubhouse exterior siding it power
washed several times a year. Painting is done as needed.
