Roughs are mowed on a rotatinq basis which averages approximately twice per week at a height of 2 inches, using a five gang, 137 inch, riding mower. all areas are cut on a rotating directional basis. AERIFICATION AND TOPDRESSING Aerification is done at C.P.N. to relieve compaction, improve water movement into the soil and modify the root zone of the turfgrass plant. Aerification of greens takes place in the spring (usually May), when the turfgrass plant is Ln a vigorous stage of growth. Aerification may also be done in the early fall (Aug. -Sept.) if the condition of the greens warrant it. Tee box areas and heavy traffic areas throughout the course are aerified on an as needed basis. Fairways are also aerified on an as needed basis. Topdressing occurs after every aerification in any area. topdressing is done with a specially sized sand and organic mix. Topdressing of greens also maybe done to improve the smoothness and puttability of the surface on an as needed basis. SAND AND GRASS BUNKERS C.P.N. has five sand bunkers. The bunkers are located at #2 green(1), #5 fairway(1), #6 fairway(1), and #9 green(2). The bunkers are raked three to four times weekly. C.P.N. has twelve grass bunkers.
