Jim Greer, Golf Professional/Collindale & Staff Dale Smigelsky, Golf Professional/SouthRidge & Staff Mike Goff, Golf Professional & Concessionaire/City Park Nine & Staff FR: Jerry P. Brown, Manager of Golf <rY_ RE: No Donations to Group Fund Raisers Throughout the course of the year we all get many phone calls and personal inquiries from citizens, golfers, groups, and other folks, asking us to donate golf and golf related prizes to their charities. A lot of people will contact you or members of your staff at the Golf Course, and most of the time you refer the people to call me. Instead, I would like for you and for the members of your staff to tell the people "no" at the time they contact you rather than have them make a second call to me. They can quote the adopted City Policy for Fund Raisers, as follows: "No discounts or donations of any kind are provided to any groups or charities for Tournaments or for fund raisers, etc., as our Policy considers such fee reductions, waivers, or donations to be a gift of public funds, which is not authorized." --------------------------- I think that this adopted Policy is very clear and staff conveyed this information at the time of the person does not accept your word, then you can have the situation. it would save time if you and/or your initial contact. Obviously, if the them contact me and I will deal with Remember, the above Policy applies to City fees and revenues, such as Green Fees, Golf Cart Rental, Annual Passes, etc. If you as the individual Golf Professional decide that you want to make a private donation to a charity, then you may do so as you desire. It is up to you. However, if you want to donate City fees, then you will need to pay for them fully yourself in order to make such a donation. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.
